We have travelled lots and stayed in all sorts of accommodation - this was by far one of the (few) best places we have ever stayed at!
The location is a bit tucked away and passing the other properties on the bumpy road and the adjacent Lemuria golf course, we were a bit apprehensive of what to expect. But the first sight of the beautiful garden and a heart warming welcoming Dagmar made us feel at home instantly - which is so important after a long trip. The bungalow is spectacular with lots of little personal features (extensive book shelf), very high ceilings and a fantastic view across the beautiful garden and the sea behind. Everything was super clean and tidy, we had a cool welcome drink and a genuine and lovely welcome by Dagmar and her furry family (cats, dogs, chickens and a turtle). Air conditioning and ceiling fans were working very well. The shower is a german-style high pressure shower (of course you can adjust it), which is amazing after a day at the sandy beach.
Dagmar had arranged a creole birthday dinner (including vegetarian option), which was outstandingly good. We also had breakfast booked, which kept us going for the day (fresh fruit, juice, bread, eggs etc) and a bit longer and was always beautifully arranged and decorated with flowers. The bungalow is very well equipped with anything one might need (maybe except the TV - who...We have travelled lots and stayed in all sorts of accommodation - this was by far one of the (few) best places we have ever stayed at!

You cannot stay at Villas du Voyageur without 'falling in love' with Dagmar and her daughter Natalie, as they both are genuinely lovely people who really care about all their guests and their different characters and go out of their way to assist and help. We had a wonderful time just chatting with them, Dagmar arranged for us to visit Anse Georgette, we got Coco Rouge to drink from their own garden and fresh fruit every morning.
It's such a great place to be, because there are only two units and you therefore feel you live there - it's very quiet, you can borough snorkelling equipment, body boards and kayaks without any hassle.
You definitely need a hire car though to go to 'town' and any of the beaches and to explore the island. The beach in front of the villas is nice but is a coral reef and therefore not as easy to go swimming as maybe Anse Lazio. But you always have the beach for yourself and you can just sit and relax.
All in all we cannot say 'thank you' enough to Dagmar and Natalie, who made our stay on Praslin exceptional - we will definitely be back.More
