We stayed at the Lemuria Resort Praslin from the 18-20th of September.

Approach and Location: If you are taking the De Havilland Otter from Mahe to Praslin, you get an aerial view of the golf course of the Lemuria Resort –Praslin. The Lemuria is at the tip of the island and in the flight path of the flight from Mahe. Incidentally the flight from Mahe to Praslin takes all of 15 minutes.

The resort is just about 10 minutes by car from the Praslin airport. Since it is on the tip of the island, the resort is on a natural mini peninsula with two magnificent beaches – Petite Anse Kerlan and Grande Anse Kerlan bordering it. At the other end of the resort, there is yet another fabulous beach, perhaps the best beach in Praslin- Anse Georgette. So, if a beach holiday is what you are looking for, this resort just takes the cake and most of the bakery too!

Reception: The resort has two receptions: The Lower reception is where the car stops and you have to perforce get off. We did not check in here. From here, we boarded golf carts and were taken up a very short but steep climb to the upper Reception. This is where we checked in.

The reception is large and looks out on to the Pool bar and infinity pool. We were greeted by a couple of peacocks, cold towels and a welcome drink. That was a wonderfully unique reception. On the right side of the reception is the all day dining restaurant – Legends and on the left of the reception is the bar area.

Rooms: I was in room 68. This is a short golf cart ride away. The rooms are very nice and good for two persons. The rooms have tea-coffee making facilities. The bathroom is quite large too. The beds are very comfortable and the sleep quality is good.

Should you have a couple of kids then either you could take two rooms or go for the Suites which are a bedroom and living room attached + 2 washrooms.

There is internet in the rooms but honestly, it’s erratic behavior could leave you confounded.

Every room has a balcony that looks out to the ocean and Grand Anse Kerlan. All in all, the room and resort setting is beautiful.

Staff: I met with Hilton who is the resident manager at the Lemuria. Hilton is South African and a great chap and could regale you with some interesting stories about how he ended up in the Seychelles and in the hospitality industry. I also met with Sweety who is in charge of the Guest Relations. Sweety is Mauritian and a thorough professional.

Restaurants:

The Legends is where we had dinner the first night. The food quality is very good. It was a buffet. If the Lamb Tijan is on the menu, just head straight for it. It is excellent to say the least. It is prepared by Adil who is a Moroccan chef and obviously loves what he does.

The Legends is also where we had breakfast. Evelyn will prepare the most exotic egg type for you- in whatever fashion you require. Sylvania is the Desert Chef who also whips up some amazing desserts.

I also had lunch at the Beach Bar and Grill. The location and view will blow you away. The food is also good. The Caramalised Banana Parfait is the BEST dessert ever. You have to have this here. Chef Alex Voisin prepares it for you – but wont share the recipe!

Spa: The massage rooms are nice with an extremely aroma emanating at all times. The Spa is a short walk from the Lower reception. But you can always summon the Golf carts to take you anywhere, including the spa, directly from your room or wherever you may be at the Lemuria. Just so you know, the Spa is very close to the Tennis courts.

This resort is just perfect for honeymooners or couples wanting a truly romantic getaway. I would certainly stay here again and would recommend others to too!

Room Tip: All rooms are good! If you have the money take the 3 bedroom presidential suite !

We stayed for our honeymoon, and from start to finish, found the Constance Lemuria excellent. The key was the management and staff - the GM Bruno, the Food and Beverage Director Cyrille, and the Reservations Manager Hilton were both professional, personable, visible, and cared for their guests in a very personal manner. The staff, all well-trained and very competent, reflected this in their attention to details. For example, we were greeted by name throughout the resort - a personal and welcoming touch. The French female sommelier was extremely helpful in wading through a veritable library of available wines for dinner. The staff at breakfast were really nice and accommodating - a very high quality selection of foods, and made to order eggs and omelettes, many coffee choices including espresso, nothing was too much trouble. We tried all the four restaurants, and were not disappointed once in the quality and selection of food. The golf course looked in great condition, and the hotel's three beaches were absolutely beautiful, and beautifully kept. Food and drinks service on the beach was very convenient and relaxing. Rooms were in extremely good condition, well serviced twice a day, and very comfortable. Two minor things could improve the experience - more robust wifi, and a menu for the TV programmes. Neither spoilt our stay. We stayed at another Seychelles resort after Lemuria for our second week, and didn't enjoy it half as much - even though it was equally expensive. So, overall, compared to the other Seychelles resort of equal price and rating we also stayed at, the Constance Lemuria wins hands down for the professionalism, quality and warmth that we enjoyed throughout our stay. Great job - many thanks - we'll come back !

Room Tip: We stayed in villa # 42 upstairs with a view of the beach. Ideal location for the main building, bea...

We stayed at the Constance Lemuria for a week after an East Africa safari. It was the perfect way to end our adventure. Anse Georgette is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen, and the warm water was heavenly. The beach, though not the property of the resort, can only be accessed through the Lemuria property and thus feels like a private beach. The rooms are nice, the setting unsurpassed, the staff the most friendly and attentive of any resort I have visited in the world. The food was of excellent quality and tremendous variety (my favorite being the Indian cuisine and the home-made yogurt for breakfast). Lemuria contains the Praslin Island's only golf course, which is a bonus. Hard to get to from the States, but if you are in the area, don't miss it.

I stayed at this hotel with my family, during Easter and everything was great. We had two great rooms, which were cleaned twice a day!, great seafood and South African wine and enjoyed the spectacular golf course. Service was not the fastest I've encountered, but I personally expect this more laid back approach when on holiday, as a contrast to the British hurry-up experience.

I spent at Lemuria the best 10 days vacation of my life.
Everything is perfect from the beautiful rooms to the restaurants, thanks to the superb touch of the General Manager, Jacques Charles.
The golf course is coreografic, but almost unplayable due to the difficult holes.
It's a must and I wish to come back soon.

Great Location... Great Service... Great Food...
The hotel has got 3 private beaches with the most breath taking view from all of them. All most all the rooms have a sea view and most of them have a small balcony attached to the room which opens up towards the beach. The 18 hole golf course is the one to die for. It is scenic and very well maintained. The food is top quality and all the restaurants are good. But my personal favorite was Beach Bar and Grill. The menu is simple and gives you a amazing choice of local food.
There is a special venue for couples for a cozy romantic dinner called “dinner on the rocks”. The place is on a small cliff overlooking the ocean. On a moon light night it could well be the most romantic place on earth.

Stayed her for 6 nights as part of my honeymoon

Rooms were pretty basic for 5 start but they were large with a bathtub and seperate shower and double sinks. Balcony was lovey with direct access to the beach but the beach off the junior suits is quite choppy and not kept.

Resort itself was fantastic- never tired of walking around and there are plenty scenic views accross the golf course - which then leads to a beautiful clean beach with perfect white sand and clear turquoise waters

Conceirge very helpful with arranging a taxi tour and if you want to take a trip to the local shops its around a 20 minue walk outside the resort (beers and soft drinks snacks ect cheaper than at the resort)

Resort had three greate restarunts - the beach bar and grill was the best - plenty vegetarian options if you need.

The bar was really nice but its not super busy if your looking for a wild night out I dont think you'll find it here. Nice cockails with good music and live DJ on some nights

I would definately recommend this resort if being in beautiful natural spacious surrondings is more important to you than staying somewhere where the room is more amazing than the resort.

Room Tip: Saw that some breach front villas face directly onto the busy lively beach - if thats what you are l...
