Arguably the very best creole food on the island but the ambience is lacking. Still very much worth a visit.

“Good food, good service”
Reviewed 18 February 2011

Follow the track through the ‘jungle’ till you think you must have gone wrong. There it is! When we arrived around 7 pm ish there were no lights on and we thought it was closed. They weren’t, the lights came on immediately and we were soon seated in a corner table in a large spacious dining room. Both the service and food were really good, and as more guests arrived a bit more atmosphere developed. The lighting doesn’t help - it’s too harsh. None-the-less our dinner was really enjoyable here.

“South of Mahe: food as good as in a 5 star hotel for a 2 star price”
Reviewed 7 November 2010

This restaurant lies off the beaten track, only a few meters from South Point Chalets (you may be interested in this critique as wel).l The view from the tables is into the palm garden. Tables are covered with colourful orange yellow table cloth.
Here you get local food including fruit bat curry, fresh seafood and wonderful tasty other curries. We eate here twice, one time fresh barbequed prawns with lemon sauce and prawn curry with local spices and coconut milk -delicioust! The portions were pretty big. The service is amazing too. We received a whole coconut garnished with hibiscus flower as a welcome drink. The white house wine can be recommended (opinion of someone who has some hundred bottles in the cellar); the caraffe is served -state of the art- in a cooler with icecubes and the Seychellois waitress is was very professional, friendly and attentive in serving the wine and the food. The only things that could have been better is the dessert menu (consists maily of ice cream) and the lights in the restaurant . The two evenings that we visisted this restaurant we felt almost like the only guests; there was only one more table with other tourists.
Afterwards we had dinner at the restaurant of the nearby Banyan Tree hotel. There we payed twice to three times the money for a menue that was not as good as in this restaurant.

“loved it!”
Reviewed 26 March 2010

The food is good and rather cheap. The lighting of the room is horrible. I recommend the avocado-salad, but it's not on the menue. :) Reservation was never necessary. Closed on Sunday, I think.
