The most consistent well produced food restaurant on the island. the ambiance is cool in that the walls and ceiling are white the open windows are dark as the garden is not lit and the tables are squarely laid out so not much atmosphere, but the chef knows his spices and has a very good palate and so produces well balanced and tasty food. Well worth a visit.

With so many overpriced venues in the Seychelles, it was nice to find a place that delivered value for the money. The octopus salad was very fresh and appealing without being chewy. We also had the red snapper curry and the shrimp curry in coconut milk. Wine and beer by the glass was served in ample portions at a reasonable price. The ambience is very simple and the appointments are modest, but the staff is friendly and helpful. It is a little challenging to find the restaurant as you wind up a small one lane road to get to the restaurant. Keep driving until you see the restaurant other the right. It is well worth your effort to enjoy this local gem.

Dear Alleydw,
We would foremost like to thank you for reviewing Le Reduit. It is always pleasing to know that our guests enjoy their time with us, especially so when the food is to their expectation. We try our best to keep Le Reduit as creole as possible and your positive comment has proved once again that we are on the right track. We look forward to serve you again. Once again many thanks.

The restaurant is actually a house that its huge living room being modified as seating plan. It has numbers of wooden windows that you can sneak to the outside for green vegetation including avocado, orange and mango. You can clearly hear the sound of bats and birds without bothering modern sound pollution. So peaceful!

They serve local food and proud of its bat curry. Even though the bat is not harmful to the human being but the government is fine to include the flying fox on the menu since it is not good for the surrounding farmers.

It's a bit of a challenge to finish my bat curry because of its massive bone. I got to carefully separate its tiny meats from the bone and it takes quite sometimes time to finish it. The size when the bat is flying does not indicate the amount of its meat on the soup bowl. If you are in hurry you better order its delicious grilled fish comes with local sauce. I have tried both, anyway, and love them so much.

Dear Swesen,
Thank you for taking time to express your delight and appreciation of your bat curry. This is one of our speciality and we are happy that you really enjoyed it. Le Reduit is a creole restaurant and that is probably the reason why your fish also tasted so good. It is our wish always to satisfy our guests and we feel glad that we have been of service to you. How about a roasted bat, the next time around. Again, many thanks.

I think we must have come on a bad night. Our food was very poor. We were on our own and there was no atmosphere at all

We visited here one evening, when he had a hire car for a day and wanted to maximise its use. It was a chance decision and we're very glad we made it.

Despite wondering how far down the lane it was, we stuck to our guns and found it. we were very warmly welcomed and entered a rather too brightly lit, but large restaurant with a gaudy array of colours, but all in immaculate condition. The menu is a true Seychellois one and the first thing we were told was that they didn't have any flying fox, which was rather ironic, because we could see and hear them about 5 metres from the open window of the restaurant!

We asked what fish they had available and having chosen one, it was grilled creole style and served with rice and pickled vegetables. Absolutely delicious! For starters, which were equally delicious, my wife had excellent fish soup and I had prawns.

6 other people came to eat, which added to the atmosphere and overall this was a really excellent meal which offered good value for money, a change from the rather formal and artificial surroundings of the hotel resort.
