This unique monstary was a wonderful surprise. Service was great , rooms overlooking the gardens beautiful. Everything you can wish for for a complete rest or for a few nights to see the Jazz Festival as we did. Swimming pool, tennis court, and much more. Train to Perugia at the doorstep. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: All rooms seemi good

The hotel sits in a beautiful surrounding, with lots of green spaces. The reception area and the entrance are very well maintained and at the level expected of a 4 star hotel. The room in which we stayed was okay, the furniture would have benefited from an update, but the room was very clean and with a comfortable bed. The bathroom however seemed to lack a proper air vent (no window either) and therefore smelled of damp. We tried the restaurant on two evenings, and I was slightly disappointed with the quality of the food of the set-price menu. The food a-la-carte seemed much better. The wifi was intermitted at times but the reception was prompt to fix it.

Where to begin? Positioned close to Perugia but as others have said great access to all the surrounding hilltop towns. The rooms are just like the hotel pictures. The grounds are lovely for walking, sitting or playing a range of sports. Great for families, however we were a couple and seeing children about was not a problem. I loved the simplicity of taking the little 2 carraige train up the hill to Perugia. No parking issues! The food was plentiful, regional and reasonably priced . Best of all were the staff. Nothing was a problem. Quite frankly, I don't know how they do it for the price. We took their romantic package from their website. Great value. Treat yourself, just go!

Room Tip: Rooms on top level 2 have a wonderful view over the extensive grounds

Arrived the same day the italian football team left. An unforgetable experience and not surprised why they choosed this location. Very quit, beautiful surroundings, comfortable rooms and, above all, very nice and helpful staff. Great location for one day visits of cities like perugia, Assisi, spoleto, gubbio, todi and orvieto, but also Cortona and montepulciano, Pienza.

Room Tip: We had à sport & relax room, very spacious.

I came to Italy with my fiance' and my Italian father and his wife to check out wedding venues as we're getting married near Perugia next year.

I came across the Relais San Clemente via a booking website that offered an incredible deal, considering what it covered - two double rooms including breakfast. It sounded too good to be true because it looked amazing from photos and the website! But we weren't disappointed as it looked even better than the pictures. The building and the grounds are simple amazing, and they go on and on and on...

Staff couldn't have been more attentive and genuinely thoughtful. At breakfast staff were friendly, chatty and couldn't have been more helpful. On the first morning, unfortunately my fiance' had a bad migraine so I was hoping to bring up to our room some breakfast for him for later. A lady sorted me out with a tray and put some things aside for me (I hadn't even asked).

The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Our deal didn't include the superior type so they were just standard but they looked better than this to us! There was plenty of room, plenty of storage space, the bathroom was spacious, and the shower was powerful and easy to set to the perfect temperature.

If there was only one issue we had, it was the noise that came from a conference they run over the course of two days (and nights) in the middle of the week. We could hear loud chatting from the ground floor up until 1am. We were on the first floor and not that close to the staircase so it must have been louder as rooms got closer to it. Our window looked out to the stunning gardens but also to the pathway where some people, possibly from the same party, stood outside for cigarettes being very loud. We called reception to ask for the noise to be kept down as we had an early start but it still took some time for things to settle down. Just one of those things! It wasn't major and if we hadn't had to get up early for a long day ahead, we wouldn't have minded so much. But it's worth noting it.

All in all, we couldn't recommend Relais San Clemente more. To us, bearing the deal in mind, it was incredibly good value for money. We had a very relaxing week immersed in some stunning countryside, feeling thoroughly looked after by the wonderful staff.

Fantastic hotel. Room very comfortable and stylish. Amazing park around hotel - smells of clean air! Staff incredibly friendly, thay take their time to answer your questions. Breakfast can improve in its diversity of choice (fresh fruits, juices and bread, for instance, should be introduced). Some facilities not even described (like option of train to Perugia). We would stay here again if we return to this area. There is a dinner menu that changes every day and is reasonably priced, but we prefer not to eat in hotels. Wifi is fast but you can only use log in with one equipment. Excellent value for money but mind that you need a car. Parking is free and convenient.

Room Tip: Prefer rooms away from restaurant and conventions area.

My only criteria for choosing a hotel near Perugia was the availability of tennis courts. However was very surprised by the quality of the hotel for quite a reasonable price. It is a refurbished old monastery in a beautiful country setting. Staff were great ready to go at length to show the ropes. was somewhat discontent with the wifi connections, and I normally expect a better breakfast. Parking is free. Courts are 15 euro per hour but book in advance! there are free bikes to go around the grounds but I did not have time to explore!

Room Tip: Do not choose rooms on top floor which have smaller windows.
