Amazing to see the worlds fastest ski run and how steep and log it is. The views of Kitzbuhel are spectacular. It was very cold when we were there and the wind was blowing. We made good use of the restaurant at the top of the lift. I would love to return to do some of the walks but we were not prepared for the weather change even though it was summer. Would love to experience the lift in winter with lots of skiers. We were on our own. There is plenty of parking at the base of the lift although in winter this might not be as empty. The village is spectacular and worth spending a day wandering around the salubrious boutiques.

the Kitsbuhel Alps Skiing and Snowboarding region offers 170 kms of white slopes for your enjoyment! The break down (I still remember it), 69 kms of Blue slopes (easy), 77 kms of Red slopes (intermediate), and 24 kms of Black slopes (advanced).

Great towns in the vicinity! We stayed in Kirchberg, Austria! It's more economical then the actual town of Kitzbuehel (town known for its celebrity population). And the downtown area of Kirchberg it's really beautiful with its many restaurants and bars!

In addition, Kirchberg lies in the middle of the entire Kitsbuhel region. So from this location you ahve acces to all the slopes. One thing though, you have to take the 3S panorama lift to get to the Jochberg side of the region. This is the smaller portion of the region but offers great slopes as well.

if you have a family, I recommend staying at a hotel which are more family oriented and not a Guesthouse (or Gasthof as they are called in German). Guesthouses are perfect for couples because they are inexpensive. Most offer breakfast included in the price. And there are no children in other rooms wchich allows for privacy and peace of mind.

Prices:

Food = Avg. Dinner was 18 Euros (Appetizer, main course and a drink)

Ski lift passes = 44 Euros per day (adult price)

Ski rental = 18 Euros per day (most guests of hotels and guesthouses receive a 10% discount)

Restaurant on the slopes - Great food, prices vary from slope location to location. Avg. lunch = 9 Euros with a drink

Hope you have a great time like we did in this great skiing and snowboarding region! ;-)
