We stayed at Shadeymoor B&B with a group of friends. We were all taken aback by how gorgeous the setting was, how friendly the hosts were, and how delicious the breakfast was! Very comfortable bed too. Would love to go back and enjoy more of the wonderful grounds and really excellent hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My family and I (2 adults and 3 children ages 14, 12 and 9) just stayed at Shadymoor B&B for 3 nights in early June. We love it and can't recommend it highly enough.

Being city folks our experience in farmstay is limited to 2 weeks at a similar family operated farmstay off Brisbane, Australia (highly popular due to it's lovely property and clean bedrooms) and 4 nights at another B&B in Yorkshire. This is by far our best experience.

Booking was a breeze directly on their website, via Paypal. Location wise, the GPS stops about a 1 mile before reaching the property (the size of the property is just too huge). Keep going on the road and do not turn left or right until you see the sign "Shadymoor Farm".

What we love -

* Pristine, classy, large bedrooms with nice bedsheets. Very comfortable overall. Configuration: -
Bedroom 1: corner bedroom on Level 2 with a King Bed + sofa spring bed (good for 2 adults + 2 small children);
Bedroom 2: beside Bedroom 1 with King Bed (good for 2 adults). Bed is less comfortable compared to Bedroom 1, but still good.

* Good water pressure and oh sooo clean. Our whole family took showers in Bedroom 1, and on the first night, the hot water ran out after 4 showers. So we were super careful with hot water rationing, so no problems after that. Occasionally used Bedroom 2 - equally good. Luxurious toiletries and soft towels provided the extra touch.

* Astoundingly beautiful 300-acre property. English flower gardens, sheep, goats, horse, chickens with coop and eggs, and even 2 variety of deer. Mouse and Bramble the house dogs were also really cute. Every morning the baby goats were fed and the children really enjoyed it.

* Fallow Deer Safari (1.5 hours). Kevan, the owner, took us on the deer safari to spot them in their natural wild surrounding. Other than the fence, the deer was left pretty much in their wild surrounding. They had 60 females and 25 males. They were quite elusive and Kevan did a good job to steer them towards us (luckily they chose to run close to where we hid in the woods).

* Red Deer - a pack of around 8 deer grazed on the field which the main house overlooked, by the lake. Spectacular scenery greeted us each morning and evening when they came really close.

* The complimentary farm walk was superb. Kevan led us through his property to identify indigenous plants, trees, flowers, fruits (they grow a variety, the apples and berries were really beautiful although flowering season is not till Jul - Sep/Oct), and even threw in a geography lesson on streams and erosion! The whole walk was about 1.5 hours at least. A part of the farm was pitched for Featherdown Glamping Tents where Kevan showed us the tents. They were nice, but nothing like our comfortable English country rooms with hot showers. I would strongly recommend the B&B instead of the glamping tents.

* Breakfast was really nice in the dining room downstairs. Homemade jams, bread and Welsh cakes (a cross between pancake and English scones) were a hit with the children, as were the pain au chocolat. Eggs done any style, and toast. Fruits were great too. At our request, no sausages and bacon. Pancakes were not that great - ask for the Welsh cakes instead. (We also took some meals in the area, highly recommend Dorrington Horseshoes - very near, about 5 miles away, and in Shrewsbury, UMAI Japanese Dining.)

* Extra value added -
1) Wifi provided. Signal is not that strong but that is relative to the city and no fault of the property.
2) We stayed at the end of our 12-day tour of the UK, so had some laundry to do. Joy, the owner, kindly took care of it for us. So we had clean, dry laundry - which was a great bonus.
3) They recommended a PYO fruit picking farm called Grange Farm around 30 miles from the property at Bridgnorth. We bought quite a lot of strawberries and other berries from Sainsbury at Shrewsbury. Joy offered the use of their refrigerator in the Honesty Bar. That was awesome. Thank you very much!

Exceptionally kind hosts Joy and Kevan took care of us throughout. We return back home with fond memories and will stay again in a heartbeat if we are in the area again.

My husband and I stayed here during Easter weekend. The whole experience was wonderful. The B and B is on a beautiful farm with gorgeous views and space to take lovely walks. The room was lovely, comfortable and warm. The roll top bath was a lovely surprise! Kevan was very warm and welcoming and he cooks a mean breakfast. All in all, a lovely, restful stay.

Wind your way along country lanes to reach this working farm with the most beautiful gardens. Take a stroll around the fishponds or meander through the woodland, keeping an eye out for the deer. Working dogs kennelled in the farmyard and 'house dogs' indoors - all very welcoming, as are the hosts - Joy & Kevan. Outstanding breakfast with delicious, locally-sourced ingredients. Free Wifi, although some mobile phones don't work here (mine didn't, but it doesn't matter) you can use the landline if you need it (as long as you make a contribution). Would definitely recommend staying here.

Room tip: Twin room overlooks the farmyard - lie in bed and look across the fields. Quiet balcony rooms overlook gardens.

I have been looking for a short holiday for me and my 8 year old daughter when i found this and booked 5 days in the farmhouse. It was the most amazing place we have been in England to date! There was so much to do and see that we never got bored!! We have been made so welcome by Kevan & Joy that we are already planning of coming back next year. It was a perfect country stay with loads to do : watching deers, bats at dawn, taking the working dogs for a walk, biking, fishing even cooking pizza outside. My fussy 8 year old was well catered for with pancakes and spaghetti :)A warm, pleasent and quite place to be. I highly recommend it to anyone. The lovely rolltop bath was the icing on the cake. Thank you for a great stay!! Anna&Vicky

Wow.. If you are looking for that get away from it break - then you could not ask for better. This place is a gem.. The rooms are beautifully laid out - the grounds are wonderful to wander around, the breakfast was superb - including the farms own sausages.. We even got a tour around the farm in the morning thanks to the owner - which was really enlightening...Only wish I could have stayed longer than the one night.. Definitely recommend..
