“A great place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

Superb hosts, comfortable rooms and delicious food.
Great location with easy access to Skiwelt area.
Really easy to get to know other guests with quiz and bingo nights.
Good to be able to discuss best places to ski with Pete who knows the area so well.

There is not much to fault this lovely hotel. Having traveled overnight by train and arriving just after breakfast we appreciated our rooms, which were immaculate, being ready at 10:20 am. Our hosts, Peter and Alison could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Sorting out ski passes and a lift down to the hire shop along with an afternoon of informal ski guiding. Also Peter's daily ski tips were a nice touch.

The food, whilst not fine dinning, was well presented and more than adequate for hungry skiers although the wine list was a bit limited. But this is only being picky as all in all we had the most relaxed and easy ski holiday and wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Make no mistake this is a really good hotel. There are plenty of other reviews that say the same thing below. Peter and Alison run a very friendly and efficient hotel that is difficult to find fault with.
We enjoyed our stay tremendously and will stay again given the opportunity, look no further!

When you stay at Club Hotel Edelweiss you will receive the friendliest and most helpful hosts and staff I have ever come across, I have visited Peter and Alison probably 10 times over the last four years and now leave my equipment there knowing I cannot find a better place to visit!! I travel with a group regularly in January and my family in December and no matter what the requirement the lovely personnel at Edelweiss are at hand to ensure the perfect ski trip time after time.

Keep up the great work Peter and Alison as our group and the family look forward to seeing you this year and the next!!!! Regards Darrell

Room Tip: Not a lively resort but become and feel like a welcome family member on every visit...! Skiing is al...

We had a fabulous week at this hotel. We felt as though we were staying in our home. The hosts Alison and Peter Neurater made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The highlight of the week was the ski tour on Tuesday - the family skiied the equivalent of the height of Kilimanjaro in one day led by Peter Neurater. We even had ski tips in the morning with our breakfast! The nearby ski school was excellent - my son and I were not as competent as the rest of the family, but after 2 days with Christian at the Hopgarten ski school our confidence was way back on top. The best ski instruction I have ever had in my life.
The hotel is close to a fabulous network of runs - the mountain restaurants are excellent and much cheaper than France or Switzerland. We love the Austrian culture - and Club Edelweiss is ideally placed to benefit both from fantastic skiing, and day trips elsewhere if you fancy a break from skiing.

Room Tip: State exactly what kind of a room you would like

A very efficiently run hotel. Peter and Alison learn their guests name from the start and always use names. Breakfast is laid out from 8am prompt, a choice of breads including some whole grain, butter, jams, honey, cereals with choice of 3 juices. Eggs boiled, scrambled or fried, one type served each day. Cheese, cold meat, yoghurt, bircher muesli and tinned fruit are also available. Hot drinks are tea with hot water from a thermos or filter coffee. Cold milk is available.
Tea is at 4pm, a selection of sponge cakes with tea or coffee. Dinner at 7:30 prompt – a local packet soup but be quick it’s always tidied away before a chance of a 2nd bowl , basic salad buffet, choice of mains , booked at breakfast, then desert, often cake but sometimes something interesting. The bar is a cash only service, payable each day. Beer is served fairly warm, there’s a choice of wines by the glass, red or white.
Rooms are very basic but also very clean. Only one shelf in the wardrobe and just small drawers by the bed so clothes need to be kept on the floor in suitcases or on the easy chairs. Clean towels, changed frequently and a liquid soap is provided free in the bathroom.
There’s a book library and sauna. Ski room is outside with boot dryer, but make sure you know how to make sure it’s turned on. Boots should point toes downwards to dry properly. Regular ski bus and taxi and it’s a short walk to the village with shop and a couple of bars.

Thank you for reviewing Club Hotel Edelweiss. We would like to point out to readers that this review is from a ski instructors and coaches course held at the hotel in the last week of the ski season. The course candidates had specific meals times, slope times and tutorial times. It therefore does not represent the normal operation of the hotel in the holiday season.

There was a couple of lessons learnt on this trip. Firstly the hotel. The other reviews capture it all really. Peter and Alison and the team are spot on, from appearance to assistance to attention to detail (don't come in early for breakfast though). The food is great, rooms get serviced each day, and the bar price for a beer is good. Sauna is free, ski room easy to access (boot dryer can be a little unpredictable). Tea and coffee with cake at the end of the skiing day awaits. Having skied in France for the past 10 years, I will come back here.

The second is the ski area. Really suprised that the place had so much snow left at the end of the season. Considering there was nil in the resort, there was heaps up on the mountain. Well linked together, even though the piste maps and the signs dont seem to match - a typical Austrian thing. The slopes are well managed, well done Austria. The bus stops outside the hotel (9.05) and takes only a few minutes to get to the bottom of the gondala - a minute or so walk up a light hill. Gondala takes under 10 mins to get onto the slopes. You can ski back down to the resort, somehow the Austrians manage to keep a road of snow across the fields from the slopes - looks really weird, but it works. I'm used to the vast Trois Valleys, there is enough here to keep you busy.

Room Tip: I stayed on the first floor, same room as the sauna, no balcony, but absolutely fine. The luxury app...
