A very good hotel on Ngwe Saung beach. The rooms, specially the beachfront rooms, are spacious with huge terraces to relax on. The bathroom is spacious also with a rainshower and a big bathtub. January is the best time to visit. White sandy beach, with motorbikes for sightseeing on the sand.... And to further afield to see some fisherman's villages. Warm and clear water. Not too many crowds when we visited. And the swimming pool aslo is good.

Breakfast has a good spread of Burmese and some English staples. There are restaurants nearby, on the strip of road but most of them are geared towards seafood and local cuisine.

Room Tip: beach front rooms are the best

Nice contemporary design of hotel. Spacious villas, with some flaws, the most evident being the lack of stowage for your belongings: 3 miniscule drawers and 5 coat hangers. That's it!
A clear sign that the hotel is mostly geared towards short stays and not for longer beach holidays.
Service at the BOB is friendly and willing, but lacks the professionalism and experience of other comparable resorts in Myanmar.
Reading the "Services Directory" in the room, I had to realise that I was staying in the first hotel with claim to class that informs you already on page one of the directory on charges applied in case of loss or damage to items in the room. The list contains 30 items, amongst them "Mattress Protector" (USD 50.--) and "Tea Cup" (USD 3.--).

Touted by Lonely Planet (Myanmar, Dec 2011 edition, page 83) to be "quite possibly the poshest beach resort in Myanmar", it clearly isn't.

Nge Saung beach in front of the hotel would be comparable to Ngapali Beach, further up the coast, if it wasn't for the constant parade of mopeds and scooters and their noise and exhaust fumes on the beach. Peace and quiet? - Unfortunately not!

Best Hotel on Ngwe Saung beach unless you want to Support the Hotels with Government Connections. The rooms, specially the beachfront rooms, are spacious with huge terraces to relax on. However there are no hanging space for clothes. Not ever a chest of drawers. We were there for a week and had to live out of our suitcases. The cleaning staff leave all lights in the room on full after the turndown service, and you spend the night trying to get rid of the mosquitos. Even after I asked twice for this NOT to be done. Re restaurant is a disaster. By the waiters own admittance, everything is frozen. From the very bad Pizza to the chicken. Unfortunately Ngwe Saung, Unlike Ngapali Beach, offers no alternatives in the village either. We tried the suggested restaurants on Tripadvisor, but they were not up to western standards. Bad service and badly prepared food. The beach bar at the hotel is quite fun, but here unfortunately the menu is very small, either fried rice or tempura, that’s it.
Another problem with the hotel is that they allow large groups of cheap tourists in. Over the weekend all the balconies are draped with washing and makes the resort look like a Chinese laundry. Nowhere else is this allowed to happen.
For me the biggest disaster about Ngwe Saung must be the motorcycles on the beach! Loads of them!! It’s like holidaying on a motorway, with noise and exhaust fumes all day. They even have the audacity to hoot when you walk on the beach. NEVER AGAIN!! The other alternative, i.e. Ngapali beach, is fantastic.
Unfortunately I cannot honestly recommend this hotel or Ngwe Saung Beach.

Room Tip: Go to Ngapali Beach instead! You wown't be sorry.

The resort booked us on the night bus (Asia Dragon) departing Yangon at 9pm. Since BOB was the last stop of the bus journey, we were given the opportunity to take a look at all the other resorts along the beach. Let's just say we weren't disappointed with our choice.

We arrived at the resort at 3am in the morning and we allowed a (super) early check in to our Villa. After a quick nap, we found ourselves awake facing the beach and the blue blue sea.

Here's a quick summary.

The good:
- Lovely resort, beautiful villa
- Reasonably priced restaurants
- Great sea view, directly from the bed (get a villa if you could)
- No lack of deck chairs (beachfront and poolside)
- One stop booking service covers both transport and lodging
- Bicycle rental services (US$1/hr) - with the village a 5min ride (15min walk) away

The Not-So-Good:
- 2 restaurants within resort with similar food offerings
- Breakfast was very ordinary
- English proficiency at the resort wasn't that great
- As many before me have highlighted, the scheduled aircon outage seems like a bizarre cost cutting measure given the prices paid for the rooms
The lack of air conditioning during designated hours didn't cause us too much trouble since most of our days were spent outdoors (great weather in February, btw!).

Lastly, the Great!
- Clean and beautiful beach
- The coconut & live crab & firework sellers peddling along the beach

The lack of action at the beach means a trip to Ngwe Saung is meant more for spending time with the people you love at a beautiful and yet affordable location So make sure you go with people you wouldn't mind getting stranded on an island with, else you wouldn't enjoy it.

Room Tip: Beach front villas or suites, definitely

Spent 5 days in Ngwe Saung, 2 nights at the Palm Beach resort (nice hotel, beach is great but not as great as the BOB) and 3 nights at the Bay of Bengal. we looked at staying at the Palace next door but was not impressed. The rooms at the BOB are amazing, worth the $ for the beach front, huge and beautiful. Bathrooms are very well done, plenty of space for a family of 4.
The food was great but we really tried to support the town and eat at different restaurants every day.
The staff were perfect, attentive, friendly, on top of every request.
The facilities are great, the pool had a little too much chlorine (1st world problems) and the life jackets sucked (again 1st world problems), the kayaks were in good condition though should be free, $5 hour is not crazy but you can rent a motorcycle for $10 day and they are way more fun.
The rooms are modern, clean and huge. We absolutely loved the rooms and the veranda and the access to the beach.
The BEACH! We travel a lot, especially to remote exotic coasts and this place delivers big time. top 3 beaches for relaxing and families out there. They were empty most of the time, huge, just enough waves to be fun but nothing to limit a 6 year olds day and the snorkeling. Bring a mask, you wont find one anywhere in town to rent but way worth it. the rocks just out front of the BOB were amazing. i know you die hard divers will shoot me down about the silt and dead coral and yes there was plenty, however I challenge anyone to find a place on Earth that has the variety of sea life in 5 feet of water. From Thailand to Oz the pet trade has devastated in shore rocks, devoid of small colorful fish, guess what, no pet trade and nobody eats the reef fish, thus massive populations of all kinds of sea life. Took my boys 6 and 9 at low tide in water that ranged from 3 feet to 30 foot and blew their minds. We have snorkeled in many oceans but nowhere did we see this variety of life. it was like being in the worlds greatest pet store.
The town of Ngwe Saung, take a mental picture because it likes Koh Samui in 1960, it will never be this cool again. Very glad we experienced when we did, we will be back again and again. Perfect beach resort..

Room Tip: Get an ocean front room.

Hotel location 's the best in Ngwe Saung!!The beach is quite and clean (not like other hotels), full of privacy and havin' security guard. Hotel Staffs were friendly and really helpful to us. We got amazing views to sea from hotel room.
Breakfast was super and foods are delicious and worth the money. And also BOB 'll be best for international guests for both short or long staying.

For a working person who seeks relaxation on short vacation, BOB will definitely look after and take care in professional manner. The check in was smooth and easy. Reception staffs were friendly and very courtesy. Whatever you need, remember to ask in reception. The room was spacious and super clean. Daily Breakfast was great, it is mostly due to huge variety and especially due to different traditional breakfast with genuine friendliness of staffs.
Fisherman bar is great place to drink in every evening. It is great to drink Mohito and breath the fresh air there. All the foods are flavorful and mouthwatering .
Was sick and visited to clinic from the hotel. Doctor is super patient and own very soft hand and kindness heart. Thank you, Dr. for your taking care to me.
As last, A huge "Thank you" to the whole team of BOB making my stay wonderful!

Room Tip: Ask the upper floor which will make you to have good view
