“Not for a coffee break”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

We stopped past this restaurant/coffee shop today. It was very inviting to start. You feel like you are sitting in a garden and it is quite serene. The coffee was very average but it certainly matched the price - I was not dissapointed at all whan it came to that. The service was dissapointing. It took 6 minutes to be noticed - after I walked inside. The waitresses were slow and it took forever to get our bill. While I did not eat there or even look at the menu, I feel there are quite a few places to go for coffee that would be better - especially if you are just passing through and want to get back on the road.

“Tasty food pity patrons allowed to smoke”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

The buffet lunch is something out of the ordinary. Dishes are never the same. Some dishes include a rich oxtail, brocolli covered in almonds and orange, brinjal with beans in a creamy sauce, and much more. It is best to come early (11h30-12h00) on Sundays to get the best part of the buffet. This restaurant is very popular and can become extremely busy and rather noisy.

One drawback is that the management does not adhere to the anti-smoking laws of South Africa in that patrons are allowed to smoke in areas NOT clearly demarcated as such. In addition, these areas do not comply with the legal requirements for such areas.

“Terrible”
Reviewed 23 July 2013

I ate at this restaurant in July 2013. I was visiting Parys with my boyfriends family to celebrate his moms birthday. A group of 10 of us had lunch here, what a bad experience. The service was extremely slow and the wait was most definately not worth it! The meals were bland or just plain uninspired. One meal was sent back as the recipent felt as if the food may have been off. We had to fight with the owner to have that meal removed from the bill. I would not suggest that anyone eat here.

“Festive fare”
Reviewed 30 June 2013

We had luch here. Seating and interior fairly ordinary and service a bit slow, food though, quite good. Had rump steak 300g with chips and vegatables for R93 ($9) which I thought was good value. My wife had chicken pie (house speciality) which she really enjoyed R67 ($6.50) and the salmon salad also proved to be tasty. For dessert there was frozen honey and cinnamon cheese cake (signature dish), which intially was a bit strange to me, but ultimately worked fairly well. Frozen cheescake is not everyone's cup of tea, though. Enjoyed the meal and will consider visiting again.
