We are a family who travels extensively and chose this villa primarily because of its heated pool+jacuzzi and size.
1. Our families (6 adults, 4 kids aged 3-7) stayed here for a week over Feb 10-17th. The villa is spacious and is very comfortable.
2. The pool is fantastic. There is ample seating--beach chairs and umbrellas.
3.The views of the Las Gomera-in the morning, afternoon and evening.
4. The location is terrific. It is situated in a quiet swath of hillside off Route 82 in tiaco bajo and is a 10 minute drive to several beaches off TF1South and supermarkets (LIDL and supermercado). The villa directly overlooks the local eatery, Chamachette, which is at the bottom of the hill and is a must try.
5. The kitchen is very usable (except see #E below)
6. Mark and Lesley were very responsive (although at the end it seemed that their reliance on the caretakers, Sheila and Ian, got the better of them in being able to address some concerns).
A. The pool was COLD when we arrived. After we notified Ian and Sheila, they came by and Ian basically told me that I was wrong and that the temperature was 28F. This was a blatant lie. Instead of doing his job (which is managing the property), he chose to ignore the problem and discount our concerns. When Mario (the man in charge of the pool) came by, he very graciously acknowledged that the pool was too cold (in his words " If I traveled with my family from Boston to Tenerife I too would like a warm pool). Mario then left the heating on for the entire time we were there (rather than just 12 hours a day) and salvaged the temperature issue.
So we lost a pool day but atleast, were able to enjoy this beautiful pool for 6 days.
B. The Jacuzzi that didnt work (but she said it did! And I say "For reals" (as my 4 year old would often say))
Sheila and Ian maintained the entire time that the Jacuzzi was working-despite our repeated complaints. Mario (again) admitted that it was not working properly. Specifically, it could not be turned off and therefore, he had to turn it off for our entire stay. It behooves me why Sheila and Ian chose to discount and belittle our concerns. The bottom line-we could not use the Jacuzzi.
C. The router that failed on Thursday night at 8pm.
Again, when we contacted Sheila and Ian, our concerns were challenged and met with a glib response "it is working". At this point, I lost it. How dare they. So we didnt have access to internet Thu night, Friday and Saturday AM.
D. The linen had stains-We stay in beach houses every year and have not had these issues. Some of the linen was replaced.
E. The toaster was not working the entire time. We had to keep the handle pressed down to make toast. Just Like the good old days. I did not have any energy left in me to communicate with Sheila and Ian. They should have checked to make sure all appliances worked. But they did not.
Highly recommend-renting a car.
The bottom line: This is a great house. For the next 25 of you booking this property, just make sure that these concerns are addressed -wherever applicable.
The villa is gorgeous and we couldn't fault it in any way. Everything was cleaned to a high standard and it has everything you need in terms of furnishings etc.
You will need to do a food shop en route to the villa as it's a fair distance out so a car is useful if you're confident to drive but if not, the locals at the restuarant across the road are more than happy to order a taxi for you! Their food is also lovely and it doesn't get too overcrowded in there..
The Villa truly is stunning and we couldn't fault it in any way. The beds are incredibly comfy and the pool is a lovely temperature - especially when it gets a little bit too hot to sunbathe! :)
We have just returned from 2 wonderful weeks at this location in Tenerife. The villa was stunning, there were 4 large bedrooms, one large living room / dinner, 2 bathrooms and 3 toilets and well stocked (crockery and cutlery). There is a large pool with jacquissi. The villa was everything and more that we could have wanted even down to having a washing machine which is great as you can wash all your clothes before coming home if you want, the villa was in a great location and was spotlessly clean. The villa is on an incline which was ok but we did have grandparents with us who did struggle a bit coming up the hill however, Kenny the person that arranged the transfers was brilliant, he would if you asked pick you up, we however did not have a problem and on occasion we walked to the local petrol station only a few minutes walk to the left and they would call taxis for us and we would usually buy a cold drink whilst waiting for the cab, the cabs were not expensive. Kenny took us to the lidl to do a shop and waited and bought us back. We also called the people that manage the property who are Ian and Shelia and they always went out of there way to help.
I have stayed a few villas and on occasion they have fallen short on arrival of the initial description I can guarantee this villa will if not match would exceed what you would expect, I cannot say how lovely, clean, well positioned location wise and although surrounded by a local house and other villas at various locations it was quiet and you did feel secluded but one look round and you could see that that was not the case. Of an evening we often sat on the terrace and the local birds made weird and wonderful noises as they went by, we also had barbeques with the local meats and they were delicious.
We had children ranging from 9 to 16 and the pool area was great for the kids and large and also clean to play in or there was plenty of room away from the pool for them to play with a bat and ball. There were plenty of sunbeds, chairs and small tables surrounding the pool to use and the pool was cleaned weekly and I can say it was done thoroughly as we witnessed how long this took.
Sian Park, whale watching and Aqualand are well worth a trip, Kenny again took us there and picked us up when we wanted we just had to call, the beach at Playa Fanaba (Pronunced fan a bay ) is lovely, loads of shopping, nice beach and the place we found to eat was called Martini just on the front was great, we sampled the pasta, steak and kids meals were all really nice.
We will be booking again and this time for 3 weeks as it was so lovey. Thanks to Mark and Lesley who we booked this through and who put us in touch with Kenny, what you see on the pictures is exactly what you get and more.
Roll on our next visit.
We travel a lot. The villa is lovely and the pics (unusually from experience) are spot on. It is in a quiet location, high above Adeje. Only ten/twenty minutes from great supermarkets and water parks respectively.
Lovely pool and temperature!
The owners are great at responding to queries and questions really quickly. TV package is amazing and so many choices (Sky Sports and Movies to name but a few). Would I recommend/come back? Absolutely!
I stayed in the villa with 6 other girls and what a gorgeous villa this is, very clean and spacious, there was more than enough room for all of us. The view from the balcony was stunning as was the pool. There was a Lidl near by and an Italian restaurant facing, the owners and maintenance people where fantastic and easily contactable.
My only recommendation is a car is needed, however taxis are easily accessible and the restaurant are happy to assist in contacting one.
Would definitely recommend the villa to others
We have just stayed at this villa, 6 adults 2 children, there is so much room, very private and the pool is brilliant. We hired a car so found driving around was easy, the location is was perfect for what we wanted. The restaurant accross the road was good value.would hie this villa again.
We were deciding between a larger villa at the beach and this one, till the beach villa refused, so we went to this o nejust above Tijoco Baco. And never regreted.
This was such an enjoyable stay, because the villa is located away from any neighbours, you dont get annoyed by anyone and you dont bother anyone. You breathe fresh air, enjoy the sea or mountain views. You can invite like 20 friends, and there still will be space cause the villa and the terrace are so large.
So we just turned on the TV radio, opened the terrace doors, and chilled the nights away, grilling, bathing in the large pool (though it was not heated).
There were some equipment problems which were fixed as we called the owners, except the bad acidic smell from the sink hole. I hope that was fixed later too.
You can park 2 cars in the yard, and like 3-5 outside.
There's a decent restaurant just 100m away on the street, and a petrol station with a shop, too.
And yes, the view is just like in the picture, maybe even better.
