CASA Chambres d'hotes

We spent a long weekend here for the Christmas market and to visit the Somme battlefields. The accommodation was among the best we have experienced in many years visiting 'chambres d'hôtes'. This was more our own house than a B&B with a large lounge area and fully equipped kitchen alongside three ensuite bedrooms. Breakfast was beautifully set out and was delicious with Florence chatting and helping to plan the day's activities. Definitely a place to return to in the future.

We recently spent a night at Florence Hebda's lovely CASA Chambres d'hotes in Vecquemont while visiting Australian War Memorials in and near Villers-Bretonneux.
Set in a lovely quiet village, yet only 15 minutes from Amiens and the Franco Australian Museum in Villers-Bretonneux, it is ideally located.
Florence and her husband were very welcoming and the home and gardens immaculately presented.
Our room was also spotlessly clean and well appointed and discretley separated from the family's living space. The breakfast was excellent and it was great to briefly meet their lovely children.
According to Florence and a tour operator I corresponded with, a lot of Australian's and New Zealanders stay at their place and I can understand why. I would unreservedly recommend their place as a great base when visiting the Somme.
We tossed up whether to book an organised battlefield tour, or do a self-drive tour and staying here and with a little research, this option proved to be a very cost-effective option.

We stayed with Florence & Guillaume for one night only, but wished we could have stayed longer. It was a very lucky find, having followed the Chambres D'Hote sign on the main road en route from Arras. We were made to feel instantly welcome and given very good advice about parking and areas in Amiens to visit. Our room was well equipped and comfortable and breakfast next morning
was a feast of local delights, including Guillaum's freshly made madeleins and Florence's Picardy apple special! Try the coffee and apple jam - looks like marmite but tastes like heaven!Great location for access to Amiens. Florence speaks good English and chatted to us over breakfast which was lovely. Unfortunately didn't offer dinner but we could have used the kitchen had we wanted.
We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to our friends.

The best B&B we stayed in by far on our 5 week Europe trip. Florence & Guillaume made us feel so welcome we had to stay another night. Room was very clean and great location to explore the Somme from. Fabulous breakfast including home made treats by Florence.

Spent an enjoyable week at CASA. Guilliume and Florence were delightful and helpful hosts. They had a stack of information and were very knowledgeable “Somme battlefields partner” that helped with my travels around the region. I initially chose CASA because it was conveniently located so I could walk the Australian WW1 Somme battlefields.

My separate bedroom and bathroom was clean, comfortable and airy. The communal kitchen was well equipped with all that was needed to make your own lunch or dinner. And the living area with TV was comfortable for relaxing in the evening. There is a supermarket about 4km towards Corbie that has all you need. While the breakfast was delicious and plentiful, it was a bonus to meet people from other parts of the world over the breakfast table.

A pleasant stay and highly recommend it

My wife and I spent a couple of nights in Florence's B&B and she is the most welcoming hostess. We were there for the Anzac Day Memorial service at Villers Brettoneux and Florence was extremely helpful and a wealth of knowledge with regard to the WW1 Somme battles and memorials. The facilities in The Casa were outstanding and the breakfast was wonderful. The rooms were clean and fresh with a good bed and large ensuite. Off-street parking available and good WiFi connection. There is everything you need for a very comfortable stay including a well equipped kitchen. We highly recomend The Casa (particularly for Aussies wanting to attend the services) and would like to thank Florence for her wonderful hospitalty.
