“Roye stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014

We have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions and have always had a good experience. The rooms are clean, and exactly what you expect from a Budget hotel. The staff members we met were really friendly and helpful. We used to stay in another hotel but our experience in Roye have resulted in us always chosing this location to break our journey back to the UK.

Comfy room with a double bed and a single bunk bed over it. Room very clean and had free wifi and TV. Some road noise can be heard but we were rather tired after a trip to Disneyland so slept soundly and needed an alarm to wake us up to head for the ferry.

The late arrivals procedure is rather confusing. I emailed the hotel as it recommended but only got a reply with a booking number from Ibis. However, on arrival it was straight forward. There is an intercom you can call for help, they speak fluent English, but also there is a booking machine where you enter your booking number and can pay if needed. This then gives you your room number and access code to the building. So if like me you had concerns about arriving late please don't worry it is all pretty straightforward.

The next morning we enjoyed our breakfast of cereal, toast, yoghurt, croissant, fruit and tea, coffee and fruit juice.

We will definitely stop here again. I used the directions that Googlemaps provided for their address and we found the hotel easily.

This is a hotel perfectly adequate for an overnight stay, situated in an industrial area but very quiet. It's tucked away so not that obvious. We use it en-route to other parts of France.

The price has considerably increased since becoming an Ibis hotel though. The rooms are clean with en-suite facilities. Breakfast is available at an extra charge but we didn't partake.

The guy on reception was very pleasant and welcoming and informed us that there was discount at the restaurant nearby for hotel residents which I think was 10%.

We stayed in a ground floor room. The window didn't have a catch to enable it to be left ajar overnight. We didn't feel comfortable leaving it open without that.

The beds are comfortable and towels and soap are provided.

There is free wifi available and a colour tv in each room.

The hotel has its own car park and is well situated for the motorway.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the ground floor if you want to have the window open overnight.

Excellent overnight stop. Good functional modern design for this type of hotel.

Breakfast isn't included but is available at extra cost, however there are nearby Supermarche, where good and speedy sustenance for the road can be had inexpensively.

Wi-fi, once you're in, is good, in France and Spain this seems to be "wiffy", both of which pleased my son.

Although visible from the motorway the hotel was still a little tricky to find, at least at night. Also, getting into the unstaffed Hotel late at night was a little too complex. The booking.com reference was not that required by the IBIS automated entry system. As i-phone's don't work for data in Europe, if you're with Virgin, we had to use my son's Android which worked fine to access the internet to get the booking.com ref to give to the IBIS night service (via an intercom presumably linked to some national centre) to get the PIN that allowed us to then use the entry process to get another PIN which actually let us in, phew. All in pre-o'level French, naturellement.

Room Tip: Don' think this matters much, we were on the motorway side, but modern design and good D/G meant...

Stayed here breaking up journey to south of France, good secure car park with security gates, especially as we left bikes on back of car. Reception staff very good had little English but provided all we needed. Room was clean and functional for family room. Nearby were 3 restaurants which open at 1900hrs, don't be put off with business park location large supermarket nearby. There was some noise from motorway and TGV line on other side of hotel but didn't hear it in room. Would stay again for overnight stopover

We stayed here en route home from a road trip to the South of France. We booked online via the Accor website and paid about 80 euros for a family room for four including breakfast.

We knew it was very close to the north bound motorway in the town of Roye. As the IBIS website gave both the address and GPS co-ordinates, I chose to use the GPS co-ordinates to enter in the sat nav. Not my best move! We had been driving for over seven hours when we passed what we thought might be the turn off, sat nav said it wasn't so we carried on.... and drove right past the hotel. We had to drive 8 miles up the motorway and return to reattempt it. We thought we'd make a mistake and followed the sat-nav and again sailed passed the hotel.. Not ideal to say the least. Eventually I realised it was an issue with the GPS co-ordinates and we entered the full address and were taken to the hotel at last. This however could be the fault of our sat-nav software or us jus tbeing rubbish navigotors, but my advice is don't use the co-ordinates!!

The hotel is based in a mini industrial/retail estate tucked in behind a car dealership. In the area among other things was a Netto supermarket and an Auchan supermarket and a McDonalds right next door.

Check in was via a machine where you enter your booking code, payment card and then receive a print out of your room number and access codes for the front door and room. There was a surly French lady at a small reception where I asked about travel cots, which they didn't have.

The room was pleasant, very clean and modern with everything you need in a compact space including a modern tv, although still enough room to move about. One double bed, a single bed and a bunk bed above the double which our kids thought was a novelty. There was sufficient towels and glasses for the bathroom. No toiletries but that's to be expected from a budget stay.

Breakfast the next morning wasn't outstanding but was acceptable and sufficient for our needs. It was the basic continental breakfast you can expect from European budge hotels; basic cereals, orange/apple juice, croissants, bread, jam etc.

I do feel we could have receive the equivalent accommodation much cheaper in the UK however we booked very last minute and all in all had a comfortable stay for a simple stop over.
