I had lived there for about 5 months a it was a great time. Everything was fine and clean. The atmosphere was friendly and obliging. Especially the food was outstanding and tasty, which leaves me to enjoy my residence. People and workers there were very nice and always had time for an enjoyable conversation. I'd love to return to this egregious place. Thank you! Roman from Germany.

A family lunch to celebrate a birthday was a great success. Nothing was too much trouble for mine host and his staff. The food was of the highest quality and was plentiful and well presented. Our party ranged in age from 87 to 18 months and all enjoyed a lively occasion topped with a surprisingly low final bill. Thank you George and your staff. We will return.

I'm in love with this small but extraordinary hotel. I have lived in the Three Tuns Inn for over 5 months. Free wi-fi, nice waiters at the bar and in the restaurant and the manager always had time for a chat. The food that you get are of the finest of all. I'm looking forward to the next visit and my beloved Lemon Cheesecake :-)

This is the second time we have had a bad experience at the Three Tuns. We booked in about 2 years ago and were met by a 'manager' who was a young lad behind the bar. He told us we had to pay cash up front because their phone line had been cut off because the phone bill had not been payed thus the card reader was not working. There was also no beer as he was still waiting a delivery. Our breakfast consisted of stale toast and no marmalaid as they had run out of most breakfast ingredients, needless to say we cut our stay and were not charged a cancellation fee. He was very apologetic about the situation.

Reading trip advisor, things seemed to have got a lot better since our first visit as it was under new management and most reports this year 2013 were good, but it seems yet another management had taken over in late summer and the reports were getting bad again on trip advisor.

Our second vist was on the 4th Oct 2013 for a 3 night stay, again we were met with, you will have to pay cash up front, because the manager said he was waiting for a card reader from his bank, Hmmm. We never had £150 in cash on us so I said I would have to go to an ATM, the manager said there was one down the road, by this time we were getting very dissatisfied so declined to stay and had to give him a £50 cancellation fee.
We transferred to the Cherry Tree in Woodbridge and it was fantastic, superb room excellent food and lovely friendly staff and we payed at the end of the stay.
We have stayed in the area for many years at a variety of inns and guest houses and never once been asked to pay cash up front. It seems this pub has suffered over the years from inexperienced and very poor management who have been basically clueless how to run a B&B/guest house. I won't even begin to describe the room. I have a feeling the banks won't touch this pub because of its poor rating on bills.
Avoid at all costs.

Room Tip: Read the reviews before making up you mind.

We stayed here for one night as it wAs near a wedding we were attending. There are so many things that were bad with this hotel i have written a list!
1) very unhelpful with a check in time that worked for us.
2) hard uncomfortable matress and dirty room
3) kennels next door dogs barked at 5am
4) you could hear next doors bathroom like you wre in it yourselves!
5) the owner wAs the most rude unhelpful man i have ever met, and after failing to tell us breakfast on a sunday stopped at 9am refused to give us anything even toast when we arrived at 945am. He shouted in our faces that it was burnt and ruined and when i said he shouldnt speak to guests like this he said he couldnt care less!
6) security lights on all night outside your motel style room
All in all i am pre warning you not to stay at this dump!!!

Dear Guest, dear Reader,

There is a welcome letter in every room at The Three Tuns. It details our terms and conditions, our breakfast times, our check in/out times and our restaurant times. This is visible for everyone to see.

The standards of cleanliness at the hotel are immaculate.

We are helpful to all guests and strive to offer the best possible service. However, we do not tolerate verbally abusive guests.

We went there for Sunday Lunch, a carvery, recently. The staff were really pleasant and concerned that we had a good experience.

The restaurant seemed quite busy and the staff advised that we wait while an earlier party went through to the carvery, which is quite small.

After a short wait, during which our drinks arrived, we went though to the carvery. We were served very reasonable portions of beef. Other meats were available. There was a wide variety of vegetables on offer, and no limit on the amounts one could have. We missed out on the Yorkshire puddings which had all gone, but more would have been available if we had waited a bit.

The dessert portions were not mean and the standard was very good, like the mains. There was a Special deal that day where these two courses cost slightly less than ten pounds.

Even if full price had been charged, this would have been a very reasonably priced meal and at least as good as any Sunday lunch we have had in the Woodbridge area (and we have been to several places).

The pudding portion sizes were not mean and of a very decent standard.

Room Tip: We did not stay the nigh, so cannot comment.
