“Quality Lunch and a warm welcome.”
Reviewed 9 February 2014

We stopped for lunch on the way to our weekend break in Suffolk. Lovely friendly welcome as we entered the pub and the log fire was a nice bonus as it was very cold and windy day. There was no other people eating in the restaurant so there was not much atmosphere which was a shame. Cannot understand why such a great place didn't have more customers. It would be packed solid on a Friday lunch time where we live! We started with the baked goats cheese and Tasting board - there was three of us and we shared them. Everything was lovely and we also had the amazing soda bread. Perfect start to the meal. We then had the Guinea Fowl, Fish and Fish cake. All cooked really well and all tasted amazing. We had a great bottle of white wine and we all thought it was worth the detour to find the pub for lunch. Service was efficient and friendly. The only negative was the outside loos. Not a nice experience on a cold and windy day. Saying that we wouldn't hesitate to go back to The Greyhound Inn next time we are in Suffolk.

“Great British pub and wonderful food”
Reviewed 1 February 2014 via mobile

Great local ales , and a well presented menu, this is a great find. We had the pate and soup for starters with homemade soda bread and venison and guinea fowl followed by homemade praline ice cream, spiced pear mad pannacotta. I really cannot recommend the food, ambience and service more highly. The only downside were the outside conveniences, but we were both willing to brave the inclemency of the British weather for the warm welcome of the wood burner and friendly hosts on return. Excellent .

“Delicious food and ambience, warm welcome”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

about twenty of us had lunch here last weekend and it was quite delicious. The staff were warm and friendly, the food and drink excellent. we are all spoiled with good food because my sister is a cook, but this was exceptional. we rarely eat out because home coming is usually the best. the pub was simple and tastefully decorated without being overly being shi shi like so many gastro pubs these days. the Scottish owners were delightful. We will definitely be back when next in Suffolk . Thank you.

“a delicious lunch”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

This christmas we took a large family group for lunch at the grey hound inn in Pettistree.
Here we found a proper pub thankfully unjazzed up with real country character rarely found these days!
We were very well looked after, the menu was not too long and offered a varied and delicious selection of dishes, it was hard to choose. But it was obivious that that there was a serious cook in the kitchen and I very much enjoyed the Gnoochi, the best I have ever tasted, we all had a wonderful lunch and even my tricky 11 yr old son loved there hake and salmon cakes. I would highly reccommend visiting the greyhound and we shall certainly try and go back if and when we return to Suffolk.

“Great meal in a friendly place”
Reviewed 15 December 2013 via mobile

There were about 15 of us, all pipers and family who had been playing at the Christmas Fair in nearby Framlingham. We had prebooked and preordered but we were still a lot to cope with and the staff did brilliantly. The food was excellent, reasonably priced and served promptly. We would definitely go again and will look forward to it. No one minded when we got our pipes out at the end of the evening for a few tunes. £20 for three courses - crab pate, beef daube and trifle. Very good, recommended.
