We were looking for a very special place to stay while we explored this most beautiful part of Sweden - and we found it in Knappgarden. If you appreciate wonderful hospitality and amazing food then they are both here in abundance. What an interesting combination of warmth, simplicity and sophistication! Thank you to Linnea and Nigel.

Although described as a B&B Knappgården is so much more. It's a place where you feel welcome and at our second stay recognized. It's cozy, it's in beautiful natural surroundings and it's a personal attitude of making you feel at home.
The restaurant serves excellent breakfast and dinner made from scratch with local ingredients like moose, bear and reindeer just to mention a few. And if you never have tried real blueberry (not the sort you can buy in the shops, but real, wild blueberries) you are in for a treat.
In other word a place I can highly recommend and we will look forward to get back to visit Linea and Nigel.

Expected B&B but got something more. Clean and tidy. Astonishing breakfast. Authentic and nice service. Nigel and Linnea gave a warm and impeccable service. We borrowed their canoe and paddled to an island in the Österdalälven. Before leaving we had their dinner which would have place in Guide Michelin according to us. We will definately be back. / Henrik, Viktoria wth twinboys of 5 yrs.

Nigel and Linnea made us very welcome at their fantastic b and b. excellent food good company and rooms were lovely.Linnea went out of her way to suggest things to do in the area. Nigel is a fantastic chef and Linneas homemade ice cream is to die for.Only downside was we had to leave. will defiantly be making a return trip.

We were a group of 10 persons on a study trip who stayed at Knappgården one night. Knappgården has an unformal atmosphere, and is very relaxing. If the hosts are to be described by one word, it is dedication. The food is extraordinary and home made, and the hosts are very friendly. The only drawbacks are that the breakfast doesn't last 4-5 hours, and that the next place you are staying are bound to be a downturn.

Fantastic hosts - thank you Nigel and Linnea! Easygoing, kind and helpful but they are no ordinary mom & pop act and they certainly deserve their TripAdvisor Award. Super attentive to their customer needs (small things like changing a salad ingredient), great with our boys and even walking our dog. Linnea spent lots of time explaining the area, suggesting places to go, organising activities for us (and providing snow-shoes and sledges). We were completely at home and even extended our stay. Mealtimes were a big highlight - great variety of local produce (or order something special in advance and Linnea will find it for you), lots of homemade goodies (herring, pickle, preserves etc), fantastic dried meats and sausages, a remarkable Sami bear and moose meatball recipe (with a Nigel twist) and sumptuous homemade ice-creams and desserts...I could go on and on! We had a wonderful introduction to the area during the last gasps of winter and the start of the spring melt and we will for sure return for more of Linnea and Nigel's hospitality and another seasonal experience!

Linnea and Nigel gave us a two days of true hospitality ! We found this hotel thanks to tripadvisor and were not deceived. We had the best food and wine in Sweden with a variety of local products such as pike, bear, home made chutney and pickles combined with the best of 'foreign' food such a very good couscous and a semifreddo. The choices of wine and the stories of Linnea made this one of,our best gastronomic experiences. That 's why we took the three course menus two evenings in a row. A day of skiing in Idre and a dog sledge by Anne Laure a friend of Linea in the neighbourhood made this a perfect holiday.
The rooms and beds are impeccable.
