I don't know where to start, cannot fault this beautiful french home with stunning grounds and buildings.
A real family welcome, a courtyard full of horses, ducks, geese and cats. The decor and furnishings are delightful and very comfortable. We chose the lovely 'grey' room, spacious and with views to the front and rear of this wonderful property. Dinner was delicious, from start to finish, preceded by aperitifs and handmade canapes Coffee and petit fours by the open fire . Everything was homemade and prepared with care and precision, beautifully presented and accompanied by great wines. Breakfast just as good, with fresh produce bought that morning.:)

Room Tip: Four rooms only, 1 and 4 have double aspect, and more spacious but they all looked lovely.

Please note that the photo of the orange bedroom has somehow strayed from a hotel also called Le Manoir but at Orchies. This is not representative of the quality of the rooms Helmut and Jennifer provide - make sure you are on the right website, i.e. Le Manoir at Gouy St Andre, before you book for a top quality hotel experience. Jennifer's tasteful furnishing of bedrooms and public sitting areas is comfortable and relaxing, and both Helmut and Jennifer will go out of their way for the whole of your stay to make sure that you have everything you could possibly want. Breakfasts offer a vast array of lovely things to eat, including eggs from the chicken in the garden at the side of the hotel and homemade preserves of all sorts made by Jennifer. If you need help in choosing a restaurant for your evening meal you will be told about all types of eating establishments in the area from those with Michelin stars to auberges offering plainer fare so that you can make your choice. It's a very special experience to stay here, one to be repeated as often as possible we think!

Room Tip: All the rooms are of the same high quality - we choose the yellow room as we think it has the best v...

We stayed at Le Manoir for one night after arriving in Calais late in the afternoon. Helmut and Jennifer were the perfect hosts, offering us tea and cakes on the lawn and a glass of wine before we went out for our evening meal.
The house is incredible and Helmut and Jennifer are rightly proud of the features they have been the subject of in house-style magazines.
The breakfast was superb, with entertainment from Helmut thrown in for free!
I could not recommend Le Manoir enough.

Stayed here for a night in June with my partner and my mum and her partner and had such a lovely time - we wish we could have stayed longer.
The house is beautiful - everything about how it is decorated is stylish and tasteful, exactly how I would decorate my house if I had an eye for design...and the money! Both of our rooms were lovely - bathrooms had lots of nice homemade soaps etc, and ours had a roll top bath which was amazing.
Very very welcoming hosts - fresh fruit in the room, an offer of tea on arrival, which was served in the garden along with a plate full of homemade cake, shortbread and more fruit, and then a further offer of a glass of wine before dinner, which we had at a restaurant in the village. Breakfast was amazing too and again presented beautifully.
We just came for a night to get away from London for a weekend and this was perfect as it isn't too far from Calais. Would definitely recommend and will almost certainly come back.
Thanks for a lovely stay!

I went to Le Manoir by recommendation and was very pleased that I did. It is a beautiful manor house that has been lovingly restored and renewed by the resident owners to the highest standards and is extremely luxurious and comfortable. On the first night we asked for a light snack and it was superb, served with a fine bottle of wine to help us relax after the journey. We are not breakfast eaters but I saw enough of what was available to wish I had more of an appetite in the mornings! Nothing is too much trouble, from restaurant reservations to suggestions for days out. All in all, highly recommended.

Our third time back to stay with Helmut and Jennifer at Le Manoir and everything was as perfect as ever. These lovely people really know what they are doing and make you feel so welcome you just *have* to keep going back. Utterly faultless - stunning interiors, gorgeous breakfasts, charming hosts. Perfect. Go there!

This is one of those rare bed and breakfast you came away dreaming about starting your own bed and breakfast or doing up a beautiful french house. Helmut and Jennifer will make your stay extremely welcoming and it is a beautiful tastefully done up manor house. It is very personal and warm. You are instantly relaxed the minute you walk into their house. Even though our stay is short we had enjoyed their company immensely and would definitely like to return very soon.
The breakfast deserved a special mention. Out of all big and small hotels we have stayed in France this is by far the best quality breakfast. Fresh fruits, really good cheese, cold plate and fresh bread. The attention to detail makes this place a cut above the rest. I cannot recommend it enough.
