Ranked #1 of 1 Hillsborough B&B and Inns

We stayed for 3 nights in the farmhouse next door belonging to Mr & Mrs Dunlop senior, as the main B&B rooms were fully booked. We couldn't have been made more welcome if we had been personal friends of the family. The room was spotless and the breakfast wonderful. We were given loads of advice and information about the area, and at the end of our stay, transport to the airport. Would recommend Dunhill Cottage to anyone wanting to visit the Hillsborough area.

Really, David and Gillian were great hosts, full of knowledge of the local area and very willing to help me get settled as a first time solo traveler. They had all sorts of maps and information on hand and were excited to show me everything from the cows out back to the local pub. Hillsborough is a very tiny town, but warrants at least a day of fun exploration. The locals were helpful as well and, when they asked where I was staying, have known David for years. I have amazing photos of everything from beautiful churches and monuments to steam coming off the cows in the early morning to sunrise and dew on the ponies out back. Thanks to all of Ireland for making my stay absolutely perfect.

Stayed one night at the end of a two week holiday. We were met and shown round the premises by the father of the owner - he has a farm next door - as the owners were not at home. He was extremely helpful, told us where we could eat and gave us his own reviews of the local eateries. The room was nice and clean, it's a new build so its modern, furniture was cheap pine and the wardrobe was very wobbly, not sure who to blame - the owner or the companies that make that stuff! The bathroom was clean and had a good shower cubicle. Breakfast was very basic but filling. Location was ok - it's not far from the A1 and just a short drive into the town.

Very welcoming B&B from the start; David and Gillian really did everything to help us get around the local area to attend a wedding. Good sized room with en-suite and very comfortable bed. Breakfast very tasty too. Overall good value, and highly recommended if in Hillsborough area.

We were driving from the other end of Ireland for a wedding in Hillborough, and our late arrival was no problem as we'd told them in advance (didn't get in till half eleven).
The room was lovely, en suite, large bathroom with seperate bath and shower, and a spare single bed - effectively as good as any hotel room.
The breakfasts were lovely (eggs were local organic from their farm), and we were given loads of advice on where things were and how to get around. We had to abandon our car for the wedding, so David gave us a lift to collect it on sunday morning. They even gave us loads of advice on nuying wine locally as we planned to bring home some, given the cheap prices up in the North.

This is a great spot - quiet, peaceful, and easy to find, heartily recommend it! It's run by a local couple who are very welcoming and make you feel right at home.

Very quiet location in the historic village of Hillsborough. Friendly owners, great breakfast, comfortable beds and spotlessly clean. Ideal for business as it is off the main Belfast Dublin road. Belfast city centre is only 15 mins drive I recommend it to anyone.
