Lough Arrow Touring Park

Would like to thank the owners for being so welcoming and for providing a fantastic camping spot with great facilities. We stayed here for two nights recently on a camping trip and will most defiantly return. The facilities on site were great, great showers not just a trickle of water, washing up areas, and clothes washing room with dryer or free use of the clothes line. At three euro for a wash and three for the dryer it was a bargin. The site has everything a camper would need spare bbq's, a hut as such for campers to sit down in with plenty of tables and a fridge. There was also a club house, with all the boards games in the world, tv and details of local attractions. I would like to note as well that the campsite is spotless, not a spec of dirt, rubbish around the site or in any of the rooms. I love also that the owners or very good with having recycling bins and compost bins. Also the on site shop is spot on. We are looking forward to visiting again thank you

My daughter found this lovely campsite online and I'm so glad she did! It is one of the best I have ever been to. Quiet and peaceful, spotlessly clean, very friendly people and in an idyllic spot. A complete bonus was that it was adults only; and for the complainers; most sites take children so go to one of those! We shall certainly come back, many times I hope.

We stayed here at the end of May 2013 for one nights camping. None of us were massive camping fans but this site is beautiful and peaceful. The facilities are excellent, super clean and just what you want when you've spent a night in a tent.

We discovered the Club Room of the campsite and had the nicest evening with the couple that run the site and some of the full time residents. Such a lovely bunch of people, i'd 100% recommend Lough Arrow to anyone looking to camp near here.

Room Tip: If you are staying here, pop into the Club House around 8.30 for some great company and chat!

The B & B is situated at Lough Arrow Carvan Park as part of their excellant facilities there. They have two B & B rooms, lucky for us, we were able to choose which room we wanted, so we took the one at the front of the building which has a beautiful view of the Lough from the window. TV and tea making facilities are included with the room, which is lovely when you just want to chill and watch TV with a nice cuppa.
The standard of the room and en-suite bathroom is excellant as is the whole site and far exceeded anything we were expecting. The owners of the site, Mary & Terry, couldn't do enough for us while we were there and the breakfast in the morning was delicious, cooked by chef Terry and served by the lovely Mary.
On the Saturday evening, we played Trivial Pursuit in the clubroom with the campers and caravaners on the site and haven't laughed so much in years. We were warmly welcomed by them all and by the end of the night we were like old friends.
We cannot praise this site highly enough and we will definately return next season to meet the friends we made.
This site has 4 stars, but I suspect only because the Irish system doesn't give any more than that. In our book, it should have 10, for the warm hospitality, the excellant standards of cleanliness and the beautiful area thats its in, and because it's adults only, it means that if your wanting a peaceful relaxed time away, where nothing wakes you up in the morning, then there's no better place to be.

Room Tip: Both rooms are equally as nice

Within reach of the bustle of Sligo town as well as Carrick-on-Shannon with it's boating scene, Lough Arrow Touring Park is an oasis of calm. Plenty to do if you're into fishing, hiking or cycling...or just sit on the jetty and watch the wildlife on Lough Arrow. There are some decent tourist attractions in the area as well, including Lough Key Forest Park, which boasts Ireland's top UFO spotting area -if you're into that kind of thing-

I liked the fact that Lough Arrow Touring Park is Adults Only. For me, a lover of peace and quiet, having lots of kids running around screaming while I'm trying to take a snooze, is just a big turn off!

Definitely going back there again!

This is an excellent site. After travelling in a motorhome through EU, UK, and now Ireland, this is probably in the top 5 of the more then 60 sites we have visited in the last 4 months.

It is not a large site (part of the appeal - so book ahead in season) but everything is modern and well maintained, with extras like the club room. The Hosts were very helpful on things to do in the area, and even helped out when we had to inspect a possible leak on the roof of our motorhome. It rains a lot here...

The Cairn sites around here and Silgo are very impressive. Silgo is a pain for parking - we parked down near the Quay and walked back into town. The Tourist Info Centre is not in the centre but up the hill almost outside the town.

When will Ireland learn that if they accommodate campervans with some dedicated parking like most of the rest of the EU, then we might spend a lot of euros in their town.

Would definitely visit here again. To the person upset about the adults only classification - please understand that 99% of sites do cater for children, so please let those of us that don't wish to enjoy ourselves occasionally.

Room Tip: Don't bring children.
