the hotel is situated in a very beatiful area of southern sardinia. it's totally peaceful around and you get to enjoy marvellous views on the coastline. The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere and you definitely need to have a car around there. There are some beautiful and very stunning beaches around there...but again you need a car to get there because those beaches are not directly in walking distance from the hotel.
to state a few things about the hotel itself:
it has been recently reopened with a new owner and a new manager and it's still in the process of getting ready for visitors. in my opinion there were just too many things that didnt work well there yet. the website of the hotel as well as the entry on booking.com promised free wifi in all rooms. when arriving, we had to learn that the promised wifi didnt exist yet and the guy at the reception kept repeating that it was bound to be ready to use "at the following day" during 3 consecutive days. After talking to the manager of the hotel, we learned that there was not even a broadband line installed at the hotel complex yet. we fairly asked to get a discount on our fare for the stay but the manager claimed that a discount was not possible because we would already be enjoying reducuded fares due to the recent opening of the hotel. the curious thing is that neither the website nor booking.com states that this hotel is still going through a trial period. we expected a fully working hotel and we found that the price we paid justified a real 4 star hotel.
so after denying us a partial refund, we were offered a free dinner which we accepted in the end. the menu was very good and quite elaborated but the waiters managed to leaves us without serving the dessert, which leads me to the next negative point. the hotel staff, mainly the bar staff and the waiters are anything than professional. literally all of them appear to be former construction workers without any clue about how to serve a guest.
to sum it up, i think this hotel has a lot of potential but right now it's clearly too early to have a joyful stay there. you need to leave them a few more months to get their act together. right now it's just a huge experiment with lots of failures.
if you're planning to spend this year's summer holidays there, better choose another hotel and try again for the summer of next year.
