“A definite favorite!!!!!!”
Reviewed 5 September 2013

I stayed here from the middle of February to the middle of April 2013. Lake Bacalar is the most beautiful lake I have ever seen. Scott and Peggy are great hosts ; they are so helpful and full of information. The property is absolutely beautiful. The flowers and trees and being on the lake make for a great surrounding. I spent most mornings going down to the patio by the water and having my coffee watching the sunrise and as a bonus I fed the fish and every so often a turtle would visit. I also managed to spend several afternoons reading and resting in a hammock on the patio or the cabana's screened porch. The cabana has absolutely everything you will need. In no time between Scott and Peggy's warm welcome and the great surroundings you will feel at home. There are several things to do in the area such as swimming in the cenote, boat ride on the lake, tour the ruins in the area, kayaking on the lake(kayaks courtesy of Scott and Peggy) and just walk around enjoying the wonderful little town and people. Being an animal lover the dogs were so nice to have around and they also added a safety factor not that I ever felt unsafe. Great Place - you will not be disappointed.

Came down from Cancun for a weekend getaway, when we arrived, my 4 yo daughter was enchanted by the place... with a fully equipped & spacious upper/lower level Mayan style cabaña with hammocks, a screened-in porch, abundance of tropical fauna, birds, flowers, but most of all the beautiful lake off the dock & access to Kayaks for trips to the nearby islands. All of our requests were handled with care, when the power went out suddenly, the back-up generator was fired up immediately.. Peggy offered us herbs to cook with and they gave us a bunch of ripely picked bananas from the tree on the property! Great value, We hope to get back soon..

Tan bonita y hermosa este lugar es especial...  los Propietarios estan muy amable y ayuderse mucho, ellos conozcen la area buen y tambien hablan Español

Me and my husband love the cabaña and the gorgeous property it's on. We stayed there for 3 long visits over the years and keep coming back. It's nice to have a homey place to stay with a good kitchen, screened porch, and many hammock hooks. The garden is amazing - so many wonderful tropical plants, flowers, coconut palms, butterflies, lizards, birds - truly delightful. And The lake is so beautiful! The prettiest lake I've ever seen. We had fun going out on the kayaks they had there - as well as swimming in the warm waters. Peggy and Scott are fantastic hosts as well, and they have two friendly dogs that keep the property secure, so we always feel safe there. Highly recommended.
