I stayed here from the middle of February to the middle of April 2013. Lake Bacalar is the most beautiful lake I have ever seen. Scott and Peggy are great hosts ; they are so helpful and full of information. The property is absolutely beautiful. The flowers and trees and being on the lake make for a great surrounding. I spent most mornings going down to the patio by the water and having my coffee watching the sunrise and as a bonus I fed the fish and every so often a turtle would visit. I also managed to spend several afternoons reading and resting in a hammock on the patio or the cabana's screened porch. The cabana has absolutely everything you will need. In no time between Scott and Peggy's warm welcome and the great surroundings you will feel at home. There are several things to do in the area such as swimming in the cenote, boat ride on the lake, tour the ruins in the area, kayaking on the lake(kayaks courtesy of Scott and Peggy) and just walk around enjoying the wonderful little town and people. Being an animal lover the dogs were so nice to have around and they also added a safety factor not that I ever felt unsafe. Great Place - you will not be disappointed.
