This was a terrific base from which to explore southern Burgundy - a peaceful retreat in exceptional surroundings. Our large, heavily beamed bedroom, was one of three recently converted rooms in an outbuilding. There was a large modern bathroom supplied with somewhat scratchy towels.

Although dinner was not offered there were a number of local restaurants an easy short drive away – we encountered no other vehicles, in either direction, on each of our return journeys after 10pm. Breakfasts were very simple but served in a delightful room in the chateau during which the owners took the opportunity to talk to guests and give advice. We look forward to a return visit

This was a truly beautiful place to stay. Very reasonably priced, rooms were spotlessly clean, and Bertrand and his wife were wonderful hosts. He spoke very good English and was able to direct us to the best restaurants and places to sight see. He was helpful without being intrusive, at all. Wonderful breakfasts, great property to walk on, and a fun and playful dog to throw a soccer ball around with! A little tricky to get there, especially in the dark, so make sure you have good directions, or a GPS! And make sure to ask him about his wine!

Driving from Paris to Provence this was an ideal half-way stopping point. 15 mins from the main highway situated in beautiful peaceful countryside this chateau had all the atmosphere of a very old historic place but had lovely large simple modern bedroom with ensuite modern bathroom. The host was friendly and helpful and we enjoyed tasting his wine and his wife's home-made jam the next morning. Dinner recommendationst to a nearby restauant were also excellent.

Recently spent a nights at this lovely B&B 16th Century "castle" set on a working family owned vineyard/winery in the countryside near Tournus. Although located in a certuries old extension off the main house the three rooms with private entrances have been recently converted to guestrooms. The rooms are very large with fireplaces and sitting/dining areas. This is the best of both worlds - modern convenience (modern, new-looking bathrooms) with the "feel" of the old medieval world (large wooden beams, stone fireplace, terracotta tile floor, whitewashed walls). The owner was great and shared the history of the place/area- offered a wine tasting upon arrival, made dinner reservations for us. The restaurant in Doulphey was great and very reasonable. I can't say enough good things about this place - would love to return.

I can't say enough good things about this place - would love to return.
