“Taxila. Ghandaran capital.”
Reviewed 6 October 2012

Anyone with an interest of Alexander the great of the history of how Buddhism travelled through Asia will love a trip to Taxila. The Greco-Buddhist Ghandaran civilisation is the key to how Buddhism moved from India to Asia via Central Asia and Ghandaran art with it's Buddhist motifs and Greek style and realism is something to behold. You could spend a full day exploring all the archeological sites but just a few and the musuem are enough to get a grasp on what this area once meant. Great stuff.
