Stunning lake you could spend all day at. Due to being a boiling hot day the lake was busy but to avoid the crowds we walked around the lake and found a small secluded spot with access to the water.
Swimming in the lake is refreshing and the water is warm. I would definitely re visit.

Great place. Very relaxing to take a bath after a 2-3 hour hike [regardless of the water temperature ;-) ]. Can get quite crowded during the summer weekends. Keep coming back year after year or sometimes twice a year.

St. Anna lake is a unique sight in Romania - a beautiful round volcanic lake surrounded by forests. The lake is administered by a private company, so parking there carries a fee, but this also means that the final leg of the road is well maintained and the place is clean.

There are several hiking paths from Baile Tusnad to the lake that are very pitoresque and well marked. Beware the bears though!

Lake St Anna offers a unique scenery. In the middle of the mountains, this lake of volcanic origin is surrounded by forests. Even though there are many tourists visiting it, you can find quiet places to sit by the lake and enjoy the view. Its stillness and beauty make it worthwhile. The fact that is was formed in a volcanic crater is another reason to visit this lake.
You can get there by car, bicycle, as well as on foot, through the woods.

Very beautiful lake, unique in Europe. Entrnce is arround 5 euro per car. Don't forget to go to belvedere. In winter time the lake is frozen and you can skate. In summer is suitable for swimming .
