“The kindest folk in town”
Reviewed 21 July 2013

After having been snubbed in one of the local bars for asking if food was being served at 8:45pm, we wandered over to this cafe and were treated like family. Food was cheap and delicious, and the lady who runs the place was extremely sweet and friendly. A great time and a great meal.

“Excellent take away fish and chips”
Reviewed 5 July 2013

Very fresh and very tasty. Didn't eat in the cafe, which looks a little tired, but the take out fish and chips were top notch. For those dining inside drinks can be purchased from the pub opposite and brought across.

“Not worth it”
Reviewed 20 September 2012

Stopped for lunch. Soup was below average and not much else to choose from? Lady serving was very kind but the food nor the ambiance matched her efforts.

“great”
Reviewed 14 September 2012

good food, nice place! This café is set in the lovely quaint village of Louisburgh. If you are looking for a warm, cosy, welcoming place to eat, you have to visit the Red Rose Café. I brought my niece & nephew to eat in here and it provides quality home cooking at very reasonable prices. The staff couldn't be more friendly and are always willing to do or give you extra! The owner Bridget Gillespie is a real family woman whose wonderful with children and seems to be very well liked by her customers. I would not hesitate to recommend this place. The negative comment on here about staff needing 'training' is highly implausible...frankly if it is fine dining & silver service you are looking for, then why did you choose a café? It openly writes on the Red Rose Café menu, that if you are not happy, to please inform the proprietor and they will endeavour to correct things. The staff are so sound and helpful and the food is great...I will definately be back for a visit!

“Cute local cafe ruined by poor service”
Reviewed 6 September 2012

We visited this cute little cafe in Louisbourg in August 2012. We are a family of 2 adults and three children. It could be lovely, but it wasn't. Surly service, and extotionate prices ruined it for us. An example: we were told there was only one slice of chocolate cake left. They arrived out with two and charged us for both, but they had obvioulsy cut the last slice in two.

Best avoided.
