“Not a waste but know what you're getting into”
Reviewed 12 May 2014 via mobile

It appears that all the cheap boat tours booked on the main street in Bocas end up on one boat. Yes you lll go to the Dolphin Bay...Most of the time you may see a pair of dolphins..there are a lot of boat a there and really they end up bugging those animals more then anyghing.the motors aren't completely rubbed off the rise in circle ab etc. Then you ride to an outpost where there is a monopoly for gringo dollars. You will pre order food but I'll tell u ou that it is overpriced because it's the only option...you can have excellent meals in Bocas for half as much. There th eery have a leopard shark in an under water enclosing that I'm sure is illegal if not unethical. Fin alk ly you will speed toward Zapatila island..which is a great place...they'll tell u need to pay 10 dollars if you're not a resident..5 if you are. If u ou protest th hey take the 5. I hope it goes to the national conservancy and not in to the guides pockets. Overall not a waste of time...but know what you're getting into

“Wonderful day on the water”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

We recently spent the day on a Transparente Tour. The cost was $25pp. We booked on the main road of Bocas Town that morning. The boat had life jackets for everyone and a bimini to provide shade. It started on the dock in Bocas Town at 9:30 am and we were brought back at 4:30. Bring sunscreen, bug spray, beach towel and bottled water. You should wear your bathing suit. They did provide one bottled water but that is not enough for the whole day. We started off going to Dolphin Bay to see the dolphins. The boat Captain was very respectful of the dolphins. He drove slowly and didn't try to get too close. We then stopped at a small island to see sloths. Next stop was at a restaurant to pre-order our lunch then off to a beach to swim and snorkel. Snorkels are provided. We had to pay an additional $10pp to use the beach. I thought that should have been mentioned at the beginning however that seems to be the norm at the National beaches in Panama. We spent 2.5 hours there. There was a restroom there but no food or water for purchase. Back to the restaurant around 2:30 for lunch and more snorkeling/swimming until we left at 4pm. Lunch ranged from $10 for a chicken dinner to $25 for a lobster dinner.
