“Break in our Journey Through France”
Reviewed 1 September 2013

The hotel is exactly where it says opposite the main beach. The beach was a revelation packed with beach huts and thousands of the locals enjoying the late August sun. I have never noticed on ferry journeys, which glide past every twenty mins. It is a 15 min walk to the Town Centre with loads of restaurants. The hotel itself is clean and tidy, just having has a recent bit of decoration. It is much like a travel lodge but French style which class rating is I have found lower than ours. The bed was comfortable the bath small but water hot, the rooms were clean and functional, but very secure. You get what you pay for at the end of the day. The breakfast was continental but tasty and warm and set us on or way. The staff even assisted us with our feeble attempts at French and we would use the hotel again.

Room Tip: It is value for money don't expect The Ritz

small hotel / restaurant but with super location.
Low room rate, beware breakfast is extra
Ample parking available at the hotel.
Friendly staff / good service.
Hotel has undergone a facelift.
Restaurant good but nothing more
Definitely recommended for short stay.
Shame about the breakfast, typical french. but at that price we expected a buffet.
we will go back there: YES

Room Tip: ask for seaview room ( second floor )

The hotel is mediocre, hospitality is ok but nothing special. It is nicely situated, just near the beach. Rooms are mediocre, and look clean, but if you look closer, in corners et. it is rather dirty... What really bothered us, was the noise of the plumbing and heating at night... Beds are small, at least when you're 1.86m..Breakfast is good.

At a very low price, one should not expect luxury. And this is exactly what is offered. Rooms are clean, sheets are clean. The walls seem made of cardboard. And breakfast is... well, typically French. So that is what can be expected at this price. Staff is very friendly, restaurant is good but you can find better in the center though and it's just a 5 minutes walk. Situation is very close by the beach(mix of sand, pebbles, rocks), only 100 meters and in a quiet area. Parking available at the door. (Stayed in July 2012)
Boulogne-sur-Mer: a bit larger city with lots of shops is close by (not walking distance - you need the car).

Room Tip: Room nbr 5 has a clear view over the sea. We had room 3 - you can also see the sea but it's not...

Simple but comfortable and very cheap rooms. The sea and beach are very nearby. Great view from the room (room 9). Excellent food. Very nice people.

Room Tip: room 9 or 3

Spent 2 nights on a final stop from a Europe car tour. Driven past on many previous occasions, noted location but always going elsewhere. Pleased we stopped as location is great and only 50m to beach and rock pools and obviously best in good weather, which it was during stay. There is parking directly outside hotel. A number of rooms overlook the sea. Room had a suitable blue nautical theme. Not by any means luxurious but comfortable. A small shower room but OK. TV with no English channels. There is a bar and restaurant. Tried it 1 night and food was fine. Breakfast was typical French with addition of a cereal. In May hotel was quiet. Owners were friendly and on hand. Room price is very good value for location. A surprise was the village of Audresselles, which has 5 or 6 restaurants of varying quality (all seemed to be open even in May) but overall some good choices and mainly targeting sea food.

Not to be confused with a less well reviewed place of the same name in the region (with the potential to confuse reviewers, including me), this little gem of a hotel has only a few simple but cheap rooms, most with sea views. Between Calais and Boulogne, in tiny Audresselles, a beach side location near rock-pools and undeveloped beaches and dunes - great for kids or coastal walks. But the real attraction is an outstanding restaurant with great fish dishes at equally good value prices. May be closed in the afternoon so check in before 2pm or after 6pm, but very welcoming and kid friendly.
