This is a brilliant B&B...if you can call it that! The Old School Barn is detatched from the owners' main property so you have your own entrance and privacy. HUGE picture windows make the best of what I can honestly say is one of the greatest views in the country. Flagstone flooring with under floor heating keep the barn nice and toasty, but if that isn't enough then the fireplace in the living room downstairs will definitely do the trick! I was very surprised by the quality and variety of "little treats" in the fridge. Homemade buscuits and cakes, Wensleydale cheese, fruit salad and yoghurt...just to name a few! Cereal and milk are also provided if you don't wish to have a cooked breakfast in the morning, but you REALLY would be missing out on some yummy grub, there. There is also a little kitchenette area with a microwave, and the best part...Jan and Chris do all the washing up! The bed was incredibly comfortable and the quiet location added to a fantastic nights sleep. There is one bedroom upstairs and a fold-out couch downstairs which was perfect for our little family. The hosts are a very friendly couple who have obviously put a lot of thought into their B&B. They are available for any questions and are very knowledgeable about the surrounding area, but they are happy to stay out of your way and let you have your space. The garden is beautifully kept with a pond at the bottom and a great big table for dining with the family. The Yorkshire Dales are a beautiful and fun-filled setting, and I'm glad I've found the perfect place to stay whenever I come here.

This is the fourth time we have stayed and want to keep going back. You have the barn all to yourselves, detatched from the main house, so very private. Their garden becomes your garden during your visit, with breathtaking views of Penn Hill. Jan and Chris are the perfect hosts and pay such attention to detail, with furnishings and little treats in the fridge every day ! Very yummy.Nothing is too much trouble. Lovely walks on your doorstep, a truly relaxing break. A place not to miss out on with exceptional value for money.

Not your average Bed and Breakfast but it is great. The barn is superb. The standard of furnishings is excellent. Very comfy bed. There is lots of space, a downstairs sitting room and huge bedroom with ensuite. The views across the valley are breath taking through the picture windows. It is a lovely peaceful place with you being the sole guests. It was also unbelieveable good value - an opening offer, try it quick. Great for a romantic getaway. Liked being able to access breakfast food when wanted. Access to a peaceful garden. A good location near to Leyburn. Disliked nothing.
