This waterfall is very beautiful and is tucked away in the tiny, picturesque village of West Burton. I had trouble finding it as it's not well signposted but it's the turning on the left just after the "chicane" on the entrance to the village. It was quite muddy after recent rain but was well worth visiting. There's a tiny narrow bridge just wide enough for one person to cross which gives a different view of the falls from the other side. There's also a small car park. Lovely!

You have to look around this lovely village first and visit the cat pottery. then search out the falls which although smaller than Aysgarth it is still quite something to see.

Hard to fault this for a beauty spot. I only give it 4 stars because there are bigger waterfalls but really it is a very scenic stretch of river including the waterfall. It is easy to walk there to see it though it is a little hidden away. It is barely 5 minutes walk from the village green. You can scramble around on rocks if you like but it is not necessary and there are footpaths leading off somewhere if you want to go further.

West Burton is a very scenic dales village. Apart from the waterfall there are no other "attractions" as such but it is a pleasant place with its green, stocks and the proverbial "olde worlde" charm. I had a good meal at the Fox and Hounds pub.

Thank Richard H
