“Enchanting”
Reviewed 29 January 2013

Our extended family of 29 decided to celebrate our Christmas lunch at St Ives. Fiona Koch and her team handled our 29 together with a whole bunch more with total aplomb. Even the gusty down pour just as we all arrived never put a damper on the festivities which over looked the lake where the two fountains in the middle did their damdest to out do the torrents of rain. My wife and I decided to stay over rather than drive back after a little imbibing and stayed in one of their superior rooms [no 14] to awake the next morning with the mist hugging the lake waters with zebra and buck grazing on the lawns - beautiful! I think the rooms were stables at some stage and are built in a 'U' shape not great for privacy as you are all looking in at each other.

What struck us most was the ever helpful staff - thank you!

So decided to take the family on a weekend break before going back to work. We booked into St Ives in the midlands KZN, South Africa. What a wonderful place to stay. The staff are friendly, the restaurant has awesome food and the cottage we stayed in had everything that a semi self catering cottage should have. Special mention to Fiona and the team who went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible, even down to making onion rings at the restaurant when they don't have it on the menu. The facilities are spectacular and there is plenty to do from trophy trout fishing, bird watching, kids play ground or just chilling. Also a great central point if you want to do the Midlands Meander.
