Situated on top of Giddapahar, just about 2 km from the city centre is a majestic wooden bungalow which belonged to the Bose family. The Bengal government in 1995 requisitioned the house and opened it as the Netaji Subha Chandra Museum. I must say that it is indeed a very rare and humbling experience to visit a place that has been lived by the undying legend ( he spent close to one year in this place when he was interned by the British Government) and that preserves the personal artifacts and most importantly a lot of personal communications with his wife, Emily.
Sadly, the local people living by the side of the museum are almost unaware of this museum. If you are doing a site seeing, please keep at least Two hours for this historic treasure trove if you want to see the collections at least to some extent. I recommend this as a must see for all trips to Kurseong....

Located approximately 2km from kurseong town on Girdha pahar this museum contains Bose memorabilia. With all the current and past controversies associated with this Great man's life this place is worth a visit.

Netaji stayed here for a few months during his internment by the British. He penned his address in the Hirapura conference here. The museum contains memorabilia and items of Netaji's use. Bengalis and patriots might feel nostalgic about these but there is nothing inherently important or spectacular here.
