A good little railway which travels around the outskirts of Leighton Buzzard. Run by enthusiasts and well worth a visit. It uses the old line which transported sand from the quarries. There is a small cafe for refreshments and gifts.

“A Good day out.”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

I went on the day that they had a classic & vintage show with over 100 different vehicles. I also took my grandson on the narrow gauge railway which takes a nice trip around Leighton Buzzard. You can visit the carriage works and see engines and carriages in use or under repair.

“great trip out”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Leighton Buzzard NGR is a great asset to the town and always a fun trip. The round trip is not too long for young children to get bored but there is always enough for older ones to see whether it is steam locos or the original diesel units, Only downside is that the line is what it is having been built to serve dispersed sand quarries and is now a bit swallowed by suburbia.

Really good for childrens parties and the Santa specials

great little family day out, enjoyed the whole experience, stonehenge works at the end of the line really are very informative about the local sandworks and the inportance of the little train carrying sand to the canal boats
