We stayed for 4 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. We arrived early and was greeted by Jane who went above and beyond throughout our whole stay. Our Yurt was already ready and we were taken aback by how good they looked inside and out. The log burners in the yurt are amazing and make it really cosy inside. The showers are better than some i have used in top hotels, always hot and powerful. Would recommend to anyone staying in the area over any hotel; 5 star accommodation with a 5 star service provided.
Had a lovely stay at Wych elm yurts. Jane the host was very helpful and friendly. We found this gem through airbnb then booked it directly with Wych Elm to avoid paying the airbnb extra charge making it an affordable holiday. Camp stoves and bbq available for use and firewood and gas are all available to buy. Shower and toilet facilities are good. Top tip.....remember to bring your wellies....we didn't and the October mist soon had us walking in a mud bath, but that was our mistake.... no shoes are allowed in the yurts but we made a makeshift doormat out of bin liners so we could de-shoe in the warm. The fireburners in the yurt kept us really warm at night, sometimes too warm when we started it too early. All in all a lovely stay and would recommend it to have a comfortable camping experience
Really lovely yurts with all the necessities! We had a very peaceful and enjoyable stay - the yurt was so comfortable, clean and cosy :)
I visited Wych Elm Yurts in mid July with partner, two teen daughters and small dog. It was a last-minute choice, to make the best of a sudden and probably short Summer! We had always wanted to try yurts, and here was our chance; the booking was extremely easy and prompt. Wych Elm was easy to find using SatNav; if you're from a city it will seem like the middle of nowhere (actually it is not far from the nearest town) but it has a real feel of being well-away from the everyday world. Parking was easy on a gravelled small car park. We were expected and instantly greeted by the huge smile of the owner, Jane. All was explained to us and off we went. I think I'd describe this as a 'Glamping' experience - visitors expecting a hotel will be disappointed - but if you understand what a yurt is are are looking for a cooking-on-fire with no electricity experience - yet with a very warm, well equipped and comfy yurt you wont be disappointed. We loved the Toilet/shower block - which is built into a vintage horse=box lorry! Very clean, great hot showers in smart cubicles just like at home - and a composting loo (the children loved it!). You have an outdoor tripod / BBQ / firepit to cook on, a picnic bench, and all the utensils. You get a generous basket of wood for the fire and can get more at a very reasonable price - or take your own perhaps if you know you'll want a long evening sitting out around the fire - ditto a big bag of charcoal rather than disposables. The yurt is WARM inside and very, very peaceful. The rising sun shines right into the doorway - lovely. Handy for all the furthest-Cornwall attractions, we'd thoroughly recommend it here!
