Second time here.
It just gets better and better.
I can not fault the hotel. The rooms are lovely and decorated very well. The bar and lounge area are very classy and comfortable. A perfect place for pre and post dinner drinks. And the breakfast and dinner are to die for. I really do not know or understand how the chef manages to cook better than all the well known chefs restaurants that I have been to.... What an amazing talent!! I absolutely love the friendliness of the staff. From the cleaners to the waiters to the owner. They really made my stay there lovely. If you are looking for a nice and peaceful break with some lovely food then you must visit. I can not wait to go back!!

We have wanted to saty at The Bay for years and it cetainly lived up to expectations. We had a lovely room with glorious views of Coverack which is one of our favourite places in Cornwall. The food was lovely, with really good choice and local produce, and service really excellent.

Room Tip: Try the Bay Suite, wonderful views and you get a sitting room.

Wonderful location, excellent food and helpful and friendly management. The bedrooms on the top floor are very small and the bathroom was pitiful. I also inspected rooms on the first floor which are larger but the bathrooms are still hopeless. The whole place has been renovated recently, but more thought and investment was needed which is shame.

We are pleased that you so enjoyed the ‘excellent food’, our location and found us to be friendly. When the room you booked as a single became a double we upgraded you to a larger room, which was the only one at the time we had suitable. When you felt the bathroom was too small we offered to show you another room on the 2nd floor when it became available, which is very large and had a much larger bathroom and you declined to look at it.

All of our rooms vary in size and price, some of our bathrooms are small, and this is not down to a lack of thought and investment but a physical restriction of an Edwardian building in an area of outstanding natural beauty. They are, however, new and well kept and as you may see from a previous response that when we recently had a problem with a shower it was immediately replaced. Where we can we have created new bathrooms entirely, thereby allowing more favourable proportions and some of which are very large. The Harbour Suite’s bathroom is in fact 15ft by 11ft, not we feel too pitiful.....

Having returned from another lovely long weekend stay at ‘The Bay’, we cannot fault the hotel, the room we stayed in this time was beautiful with such a comfortable bed, massive ensuite and a private terrace with a lovely view of the sea. (excellent for smokers or dog owners) Ric’s food was excellent as always and Gina, Zoe and all the staff including Tomas, Ilona & Linda are fun, welcoming and efficient.

Although all the rooms have individual benefits; larger ensuites, more head room, varying but always beautiful views, we have learnt over the past six years which rooms we prefer most (we, our friends or family have stayed in all of them at some time or another !!)

A good tip for ordering your meal in the morning is to eyeball the menu before you eat your breakfast then enjoy the rest of the day either looking forward to what you have ordered or forgetting then having a lovely surprise at Dinner

The times of the meals suit us perfectly as after having a hearty Breakfast, a relaxing day either staying on the lawn or doing one of the local costal walks (weather permitting) or visiting the other lovely Cornish places we are more than ready to eat at 7 (what is it they say about eating after 8 !!)

Having stayed may times it is always nice to bump into other guests that we have met on previous visits or to meet new people although one must always appreciate that some couples do prefer their own company

Ok so I may be biased as I first stayed at The Bay in Coverack in 1961 when I was six weeks old (!) and spent wonderful family holidays there until I was 18 but believe you me the hotel now is very different from then having improved dramatically since Gina and Ric took over in 2007

The only negative point about Coverack and staying at ’The Bay’ is……having to go home !!

This is a lovely, family run hotel that provides the perfect place to relax. Stunning location, fabulous food and friendly welcoming staff. Rooms are clean and smart and overall facilities are very good. What makes a stay is the welcome you receive from Gina, Ric, Zoe and the rest of the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and they all go out of their way to make your stay, however brief, comfortable and welcoming.

Overall a great place to go for a bit of R&R and thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: All rooms have positive points - larger rooms are generally on the Ground and 1st floor, however, th...

If you'd like your dinner served late at night, the whole village is not for you. Coverack is a beautiful, beautiful place however there's no fancy shops, taxi service or mobile phone signal so is more suitable for those who prefer a quiet relaxing break, perhaps couples who are content with each others company, and are happy to go with the flow. So many reviewers have said nice things about the Bay Hotel here and I could only repeat them. Excellent rooms, cleanliness, the amazing chef Ric's food, and most of all how warm and welcoming Gina & all her staff are. It’s not a 24/7 metropolitan hotel but a family-run business and how they continuously give such a perfect service day-in day-out, is beyond our imagination. When we stayed last week, we saw a male guest demanding for the unreasonable in a very rude and almost obsessive manner; I've worked for a catering service industry in the past and I know you can't please everyone all the time. It must be so hurtful when you work so hard to have such negative, non constructive comments.

My partner is very chatty & I'm more shy, but we always strike up a conversation with people in the lounge but respect those that would prefer not to and whenever we see Gina at the reception or lounge, she will come & talk to us with the most welcoming smile. It's the reason that we keep going back to the hotel.

Some of the bathrooms are reasonably small, however the Hotel was not purpose built to include ensuite’s but the very best has been done to achieve that facility within the constraints of the structure and lay out of the rooms so if one is on the larger size, with respect I suggest you should consult with them before you book.

My wife and I went to the restaurant as non residents. Both the food and service were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal. This is definitely the best place for a meal in Coverack and we look forward to returning.
