We go to The Itallian Farmhouse regularly and love it! We have had various birthday celebrations there and everyone has commented how good it is. In fact we are back there on Saturday night for another one! :) AS far as the comments go about the "Turkish" staff as far as I am aware there is only one and he is fabulous as well as being very friendly and professional and nothing a trouble to him.AND as the reviewer's comment goes" change the menu and I'll come back...for me DON'T change it and let the misery stay away!! ha ha. I would highly recommend this restaurant to couples, families and all other varieties of diners. Long may it go on
Well done to all the staff...You are fantastic xxx

Drove from South Shields down the A19 a mere 20 minute journey lovely location, with the quirky model cow outside given it the charm of an italian farmhouse. Nice chic setting we did book and just as well as the place was full 7.15pm on a thursday evening. The menu we chose from was exceptional value £29 3 course and a bottle of wine for the 2 of us. Plus the free gratis bread with the selection of dips was a meal in its self. I choose the steak for my main course and request to have it rare, it just melted in my mouth, the mrs had Fish pasta dish which she loved, the cheese board we got each for our dessert was amazing too, our first visit but we will be back very soon.

had a meal here last night asp part of a deliberately belated Fathers Day gift from my children. in total there were nine of us and we were greeted straight away and shown to our table. menus were passed around and drink orders taken by friendly staff. we had some bread and dips placed on our table to nibble on whilst we selected our meals which was a nice touch. the starters were brought within a reasonable amount of time and so were the mains and on the whole everyone had very nice food even though it was very busy everyone agreed the food was hot and tasty. Dads Calzone was absolutely massive and full of tasty ingredients. I had the pescare di Ragu which was also very nice. we were attended to by the plentiful staff for table water as and when required and drink top ups. puddings were also very nice and very reasonably priced. one small gripe is the identity of the place as it's the Italian "farmhouse" yet there seems to be a lot of decor relating to the sea which we thought was a little confusing and also the background music was the "Gipsy Kings" who are French guys playing Andalucian which is Spanish music...not very Italian perhaps a rethink there to create a more Italian ambience but those are just little niggles and I personally wouldn't hesitate to return.

I can only think the clientele are easily pleased. We've eaten here several times now, so it's been given a fair chance.
The atmosphere and decor is nice, if a little uncomfortable after an hour, but the food is no where near as good as some of the other local Italians.
The pizzas are too thin, the pasta is certainly not fresh and on our last visit, my cannelloni was reheated and greasy, while my wife's risotto was not even what I would call risotto (watery instead of creamy, little or no Vermouth/wine, no celery and no flavour). I can cook a much better risotto at home!!
It's not a big surprise as the staff are Turkish and not Italian.
I love Turkish food and you can't cook Italian, so change your cuisine and I'll come back. Until then I'm off to Shiny Row or Sunderland for my Italian.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our restaurant. I am sorry that you felt the food was lacking. As you can see from the overwhelming majority of our reviews, guests comment about how good the food is. I am sorry that you feel we did not achieve this with yourselves.

The Italian farmhouse prides itself on its high standards of all fresh locally sourced food. I have highlighted your concerns to Head Chef on site and assure you that this is an isolated incident.

Regarding your problem with one of my managers being Turkish would it be better if he changed his name from Turgut to Pasquale?
