Just visited The Grey Horse for the first time, it is a village pub in Penshaw and we were greeted in a friendly and welcoming manner from the bar and waiting staff. We were quickly seated and our order of Sunday roasts placed. The food arrived promptly and was piping hot, tasty a decent sized portion with extra homemade gravy, my only gripe may be an extra roast potato and maybe an additional vegetable would be nice but considering the price of £6.95 there is no room for complaint. If you want a modern clean cut pub this is not it is a rustic village pub, however if you want good honest tasty food and a friendly welcome well you are in for a treat.
