“Thank you for a lovely holiday”
Reviewed 17 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

This is the second time we have stayed here and it was great to see how the lodge is developing. The addition of a lovely swimming pool is great - even though we did not use as our visit was in October. Great place to stay - Caro and Sean are very hospitable and extremely knowledgeable and interesting on the subject of everything wine related. You should take a car with you so you can stock up on some of the lovely organic wine for back home.

“Idyllic”
Reviewed 5 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

I bought a book, 'Grape Expectations' written by Caro Feely, loved the book and that made me want to stay at Chateau Feely.
I booked it at short notice and quickly read her second book 'Saving our Skins' before we arrived. We stayed in the cottage not the wine lodge. It was lovely.
There was just the two of us and one bedroom was fine. There is a lovely daybed in the lounge which would easily sleep two more.
Everything you needed was provided, it was so peaceful and great for a break. Caro provided us with great breakfastts, all organic which goes with her family's ethos. We ate in the village, just a short walk away which was lovely.
The views from the living room over the vineyards was wonderful, you could see miles with the river in the distance.
We did a short course with Caro who was so enthusiastic, about wine which is well worth doing as you only walk about 20 steps. Brilliant

“Living and learning wine”
Reviewed 27 May 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Chateau Feely, formerly Chateau Haut Garrigue, is a really special experience. We stayed in the cottage, which is spacious, not in the new high-standard Wine Lodge. Simply, Sean and Caro Feely offer an intimate wine experience surrounded by their vineyards, with wonderful views, an excellent restaurant in the village when you are not self-catering and some special "coaching" opportunities. See their website for the courses that Caro offers - and check out the excellent walking routes in the area. Want to see behind the scenes: Caro's book, Saving our Skins, says it all.

“Amazing Wine, Peaceful Setting With Stunning Views”

From the moment we arrived at The Wine Lodge and were met by Sean we felt welcome and at home.

The lodge is fantastic with 2 large bedrooms (both ensuite) and 1 with access direct to the wonderful terrace. The kitchen/dining area is equipped with everything you need including oven, dishwasher, fridge (very important for the wine) and Wi-Fi which is available throughout the lodge.

After around 15 minutes Caro popped in to ensure we were ok and brought a bottle of the most amazing sparkling wine for us to try. Caro is infectiously enthusiastic and very helpful, recommending a walk to the village of Saussignac (5 mins walk) that evening to the local restaurant, lion d'or. The food there was reasonably priced and very tasty. Following this we headed back to The Wine Lodge to enjoy a couple of bottles of Sean and Caro's organic wine (which is amazing).

The next day on Caro's recommendation we visited the village of Issigeac (15-20 min drive) for the Sunday market and a wander around the picturesque square. The rest of the day was spent chilling out on the terrace of The Wine Lodge drinking more of Chateau Feely's sparkling wine (and a couple of the reds). The best thing about the organic wine from Chateau Feely is that you get absolutely no headache the next day.

On Monday we visited St Emillion with Caro. Whilst there we visited a couple of vineyards/chateau's and enjoyed a lovely lunch in the square. During this trip we learnt a lot about winemaking and the advantages of organic farming. Caro is very knowledgeable and even for amateurs like our group managed to explain the processes involved and helped us enjoy our tasting.

The location is incredibly peaceful whilst still being close enough to explore the surrounding area. We will definitely be back soon as there is still a few places nearby we didn't get chance to see and more importantly the wine was the best we tasted in our week in France (and since returning)
