Had a voucher for 2 nights but was only able to stay one night due to prior commitments. Arrived at lunchtime & was met by Colin opening the door - excellent service. Room 4, standard room on first floor, had lovely view of Runswick Bay, & inland from other window. Not a massive room but there were chairs in front of the window to enjoy the view & it was nicely decorated & clean, with tea/coffee & biscuits. Shower room small but clean, & toiletries provided (soap smelt like lemon sherbet!), glass shelf above the sink made it hard to clean my teeth, my only criticism. Had two evening meals, both very good & well cooked, as was the breakfast. Lovely views of Runswick Bay from restaurant, even a rainbow! Staff all friendly & helpful.Would return, but only on a 'deal', couldn't afford the full price of £230 for 2 nights B&B.
Lovely place for a short break, walk on the Cleveland Way to Staithes one day & Sandsend the next. Also explore the narrow ginnels of the village, which mainly comprises holiday cottages, and, depending on the tide, walk along the beach & look for fossils.More
