“So lovely”

We didn't actually stay here because they didn't have a room but they went out of their way to find us somewhere else (we ended up staying at The Old House which is also great). We eat here both of the nights that we stayed in Nether Stowey and really enjoyed our evenings. Great, fresh home-cooked food, lovely relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and other guests and a quiet pool table and darts at the back for a bit of fun. We were with our kids which they take in their stride which made for a comfortable and relaxed evening. Really recommend this place - relaxed enough for kids but also cosy and romantic for couples!

I stayed at the Rose and Crown for a number of weeks whilst waiting for a house . I had an amazing and freindly time whilst staying at the crown . Babs and Charles were the perfect partnership for Delivering excellent food and beer alike . I made friends with all of the family whilst staying in the room facing the clock tower . The location is perfect for the Quantocks which offer excellent walking and mountain biking trails . The cost although paid for by my company was of excellent value compared to the surrounding available accomodation along with the friendliness of the Owners and there family . Highly recommended .

We only spent one night here but would be more than happy to stay again! This is an old coaching inn (now by-passed by the main road) in a quiet, attractive village. Although in a pub, the room was quiet and comfortable with en-suite facilities. We had an excellent venison pie in the pub in the evening -with well-kept real ale and a local cider afterwards!
In the morning we had an excellent 'Full English' -although we weren't sure about the mushrooms which, although fresh, appeared to have been deep fried with an odd taste -however, this was only a minor niggle!

I have stayed at the Rose and Crown on several occasions this year, and just love the place. Charles and Barbara make you so welcome when you arrive, and you feel at home right away. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the food is especially good. Would not hestitate to recommend to anyone.

We arrived late afternoon to find the street full of parked cars, this was no problem to Charles the Landlord who proceeded to manouevre a couple of his family cars to accommodate mine right outside the front door!
! I realised next day when going for a newspaper that I could have comfortably parked about two or three hundred metres away and Charles could easily have saved himself some effort, thanks Charles!
We booked a family room which turned out to be the whole of the front of the pub upstairs, which consisted of a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a full size bathroom with fresh, crisp linen and fluffy towels and a lobby with a bookshelf full of quirky books which my youngest daughter loved!
Our breakfast and evening meals were fantastic with generous portions of everything, and the local Bitter was a joy, whilst the free WiFi kept the kids occupied!
Before we left Charles, although obviously very busy, took the time to show me around his Hostelry and in particular the quaint skittle alley, my teenage kids were in awe of what then was the equivalent of a modern day 24 lane bowling alley, finding much amusement in trundling the wooden bowling ball down the wooden return chute!
In summarising the Rose and Crown is a fantastic place for B&B and even better if used as a base to explore the surrounding beautiful countryside.
Thans again Charles.

Really nice pub B&B, friendly staff, clean room, great power shower! Tip top after a long, muddy, (great) MTB ride in the quantocks, storage for our bikes and hose to clean them with! Breakfast was REALLY good, quality produce, great coffee and plenty of it, and at a fantastic price too!

We had an evening at the Rose & Crown, very good food, excellent beer especially the local (300mtrs away) Nether Stowey micro brewery beer. So it travels well. The Pork in Magners was just about the best that my partner had eaten and the HUnters PIe that I had was superb, the veg well cooked and all served within a reasonable time. Deserts were just as good and very sensibly priced. We will add this pub to our list of places to stay in the future.
