“Mountain Hideaway, great base for exploring Andalucia”
Reviewed 2 May 2011

Stunning views and excellent accomodation are available at La Loma, which you could use as a retreat for lounging by the pool or as a base for discovering Granada, Cordoba and Seville, all within 2 hours drive. The casita La Almendra was excellently equipped for a self catering holiday with a private patio and barbecue. It was spotlessly clean and if anything else was required, Gaynor and Martin were only too pleased to help. A week is not long enough to discover the delights of Andalucia!

We spent a week at La Loma, and had a great time. The Casa is really great value for money, very well maintained. The views at the terrace are absolutely breathtaking, at any time of day, in any type of weather. Andalusia has so much to offer - we visited the Alhambra, Cordoba, Ronda and more... Farmost, Gaynor and Martin are absolutley wonderful! They are 'invisible' at the property, yet always there when you need them, or have a question. Besides that, they prepared a booklet w tips and are more than willing to help you to get the best trip ever. We've been to many places, but never experienced that type of hospitality, or having all the groceries waiting for us as we came from the airport. Absolutely fabulous! We can surely recommend La Loma!

A haven of peace and tranquility is what we aim for on holiday and this has met our need in full. Our warm and hospitable hosts made us immediately welcome and had provided everything we could want in their beautifully renovated home. Beds were extremely comfotable and the knives inthe kitchen sharp! All these touches make such a difference. The thrill of watching swallows in spring and also bee eaters and hoopoes made it hard to tear ourselves away from the balcony. Thanks again to Gaynor and Martin for a wonderful acheivement in Andalus

We have recently returned from yet another fantastic holiday at La Loma.
It fulfils everything we needed for a perfectly relaxing holiday.
A fabulous location with wonderful views, the accommodation overlooking lake Iznajar was Immaculate as usual.
Martin and Gaynor were once again the perfect hosts during our stay.
No need to write streams of well worthy praise, the fact that we had returned for a fourth consecutive visit speaks for itself.

The best of both worlds - Make a trip of just relaxing at the casita and soaking in the views or use it as a base to explore the culture and beauty of Southern Spain. We recommend a little of both!
Your hosts (Martin and Gaynor) exemplify hospitality and will do absolutely everything to make your stay personal and relaxing. You truly feel as though you're a guest in their home, in the best way possible. They are there when you need a restaurant recommendation or help with anything around the casita, but also give you ample space to just enjoy yourselves. We arrived late on a Saturday night and weren't aware that EVERYTHING is closed Sundays, so we were a little light on food for the next day. Not to worry, Martin runs over with some goat cheese and a cake in addition to the awesome welcome package already in our fridge (bread, eggs, bacon, beer, wine, etc.) Gaynor was actually out of town while we were at La Loma but was checking in with Martin to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves.
La Loma is a phenomenal place and truly one of those locations you are lucky to come across. Hopefully we can spread the word and have even more people enjoy this fantastic experience.

This was our 2nd trip to La Loma and it was even more fantastic than our first trip a couple of years ago. This time we had the bigger house at the front, with the permanent spectacular views.. and even though I d been before, I still just couldnt take my eyes away from the fantastic scenery.. its just so spectacular! On this 2nd visit we had just come from 5 nights in Nerja, at the sea, eating out every night... so for our 3 night stay at La Loma we came prepared, via the Supermarket, so that we didnt have to leave once, just soaked up the sun, the view, read books and relaxed in total peace & quiet - simply bliss. Martin and Gaynor were lovely, such genuine people, and I feel lucky to know them and know about this magical place. Please dont change it, its just Perfect the way it is . Thanks again, Carole Reece

A delightful place to stay, the casita exceeded our expectations being both charming in character but with modern amenities. Gaynor and Martin are superb hosts, available for information when needed but not intrusive.
We spent a lovely week exploring the countryside and came home each day to the magic of "la Loma" and its glorious views.
Hope to return one day!
