Its a small hotel. nice location close to the beach and close to everything else around. The design is modern and the pool is nice. The Bed was NOT good, was uncomfortable as well as the pillows. the service is good...and for such a low price!!! its a very good option to stay!!

First of all i found Phuket in general a bit of a seedy tourist hub- don't be fooled thinking that Kata and Karon are more beautiful that Patong.. just smaller! If i could do it again i would of stayed in a more local/quieter area or even phi phi.. but thats just me!

The hotel was in a good location (except that it was on an INSANELY steep hill), staff were alright, food was average, room was average (smelt a bit like mould) and the pool was alright- it was a bit awkward swimming in it as they were quite small and backed onto peoples rooms. We also hired motorbikes through the hotel (it was with another company though)- the bike was faulty and the brakes didn't work so we had a few scary encounters on this big hills! So i would check your bike before driving away!

This was one of the more expensive places we stayed on our 3week trip and the least impressive. Maybe Phuket is just more expensive! I didn't hate it, but i wouldn't stay here again

Close to beach, nice staff, and the pool is excellent. I stay here twice, once in Nov 2012, and I just come back from this hotel. The design is beautiful and lovely. stay in this hotel is the most relax day in phuket. In there with high speed wifi, you can drink a cool beer in the pool side, watch youtube, and jump into the pool anytime you want

Room Tip: must choose the pool access room

First impression...GREAT!
After which not so great..
Reception staff really not friendly.
Stayed there for 5 days at a pool side access room, basic room, pool was dirty...woke up one morning to find a plastic bag of garbage in the pool! Took the staff quite a while to clean up the pool. "Waterfall" wall outside the room started operating at 6 am!! Too noisy to sleep.
Overall: Nice concept but needs improvement

Room Tip: Steep climb upto the hotel therefore not suitable for elderly or people with disabilities

Maybe I didn't read enough reviews on Trip Advisor but I was really disappointed in this hotel.
We live in Pattaya (about 5 years now) and come to Phuket about 1-2 times each year mainly for diving. I thought we could probably splurge a little bit this time since it will probably be our last time before we move on and it was only for the weekend. If I didn't have an agoda Insider deal on this hotel, I would've been really upset.
What I was looking for - a decent hotel with a comfortable bed with a convenient location, preferably with reviews that didn't mention "the sewer" or "the sewer smell" that we live with in Pattaya. OK, I guess this hotel did actually meet those criteria. I thought since it was on a hillside close to the beach there would be a nice view also - no such luck.
The room - They put us in one of the top rooms which I thought would be OK, even though we were essentially stuck in our room that night because we were too exhausted from traveling to get out. No room service either, luckily we had snacks with us.
Nice big room, but the AC took some time each day to cool it down upon our arrival and there was no extra room key to keep it going during the day. OK, no problem. We're used to that.
Point #1 - Little did I know that once we were checked in they would be unwilling to pick us up in the cart to take us down the next morning. This would have been only an inconvenience if we didn't have two 20 pound bags of scuba gear to carry. It took about 20-30 minutes to finally get someone that spoke English on the house phone to convince them to do it. The only reason for picking us up was supposed to be check-out I guess. Because of the delay, we had no time for breakfast before our ride came to pick us up.
Point #2 - When we arrived back to the hotel that evening after a long WONDERFUL exhausting day of diving (Kiwi diver), they were unwilling to take us back to the "top floor" to our room. It seemed to be aggravating to them to even have to explain the maze of the elevator/floor system to us. They RUDELY did a minimal explanation and left us to our own devices. WE WERE NOT THE ONLY ONES searching for our way around as we traversed/hiked the hotel.
Breakfast was good the second day and most of the staff in the breakfast area were friendly and eager to please. Although one of the staff did berate (kind of loudly) the lady next to us for feeding the cats nearby. (Which of course fueled us to feed them more.)
Reception staff that day was nice to us.

Room Tip: not near the top, very inconvenient.(4200's were near the top on the opposite side of the comple...

Beautiful design hotel in Phuket, away from the noise and crowds but close to all the amenities you expect on holiday. Loved the seaview from my top floor suite! Spacious clean room with free wifi and breakfast,as well as free minibar. Great pool area and sauna/steam room for that end of the day ultimate relaxation. Fabulous breakfast buffet with more choice than you need to keep you full till dinner time. Efficient check-in desk and attentive service.

Tip:walk 5 mns down the hill to Kata beach if you don't mind family crowds,or take the bus to Karon beach, more spacious and quiet.Or try both and see which one you prefer :-)

Room Tip: If you have difficulty walking, don't pick the upper floors, because there is quite a steep climb...

We chose Sugar Palm Grand Hillside because of the beautiful setting, the cascading swimming pools, the nice view and the proximity to Kata Beach. Everything in the description turned out to be true, so there were no disappointments whatsoever.

The only downside of the hotels in this part of the island is the cost of airport transfer - but it has nothing to do with the specific hotel.

Some transportation tips: You have a very cheap public bus to Phuket town (a charming place with great examples of Sino-Portuguese architecture) every 30-40 minutes diring the day, the bus stop is just in front of municipality building - just 3-4 minutes from the hotel.

For airport transfer you'd better book a car online - the local taxi mafia is ripping tourists off with worse service and fixed high prices.
