“The best .... Feels like king & queen”
Reviewed 28 February 2014

I was browsing through few options of villa in Phuket and finally decided on Barray Villa. Hubby and I we're sad because we arrived there in the afternoon. So did not get to enjoy the facilities on the first day. However...... The villa was absolutely awesome. I could not describe how happy I was to see that my money was well spend. It's worth staying there. The morocco. Theme was really beautiful. You don't even feel like your in Thailand. Many of my friends and relative thought that we were in morocco and they love the villa interior lay and exteriorly. Yes, there's not much things to play at the villa but the private jacuzzi and pool, the little library place and the restaurant and not forgetting the villa itself was Perfect. Since it was raining on day 2 we decided to take the cooking class and it was worth it! Best experience cooking Thai dishes and you don't have to travel far. The spa was good too. Overall very good services. No worries about cheap and affordable shopping, spa and food as you can find them just outside the villa. Very accessible. And if you want something romantic and relax, here is the best with more beautiful beach like Karon. It's away from the busy and noisy streets in Patong.
Thumbs up !!!!!!!

Everything about this place is amazing! We stayed at one of the villas and had a personal assistant. She was so helpful! She had our favorite fruits ready for us each morning and delivered to our room. The breakfast buffet was delicious! I also enjoyed the 3 hour massage they offer at the spa. A great escape from the fast crowded life in Phuket.

By far the best Hotel in kata. Villas huge and service top. Love to come back with My family again. recommend villa closes to the fountain where You could get sun. Food was to die for with fair prices. No gym that might be the only negative i could find.

I can start by saying the place is gorgeous. This is the most amazing place we have ever stayed. The Baray Villa is enormous and the attention to detail is incredible. It would never know from looking at the entrance what beauty lies behind its walls, but once you enter both the Sawasdee Village and its Baray Villas you will never want to leave.I was only able to stay here for one night and wish I had stayed longer, however the staff made us feel very at home! Guest service is no exception as well. All the staffs are highly generous and polite.

Our villa was breathtaking. The villas are very well decorated and it's just amazing to have the pool start right from your living room. Firstly the living area - the sofa is enormous and really comfortable. They are a perfect blend of traditional Thai architecture with modern elements thrown in such as flat screen 42" LCDs in the bedroom and living area with Apple internet connectivity. Free WIFI is available for your own device too. There is another toilet and outside shower, and a Jacuzzi which leads on to small secluded pool area which then leads on to the private long pool with waterfalls at one end and a bar at the other.
Upstairs, the bedroom could only be classed as opulent, the domed ceiling reminiscent to many Turkish, /Roman type castles. The ultra king-size bed was at least 8ft wide or more, just enormous but so comfortable, I had the best sleep of our lives here. Just loved looking up to the domed ceiling feeling so special, the views to the pool area and our room being close to the water feature gave us brilliant views of this magnificently designed structure.

Also I really enjoyed the buffet breakfast in the morning which was all high quality and a nice mix of Western and Thai food.

The hotel is not on the beach, but you can easily get there either on foot which would take you around 10-20 mins walk but there is a free shuttle bus for guest use.

The spa centre was lovely and the staff were very professional. You have to try out the spa service although it is frequently booked up.

You'll know your at the perfect place as soon as you arrive and unfortunately when it's time to leave. Truly an absolutely amazing remote paradise!

Our third stay at The Baray Villa and a lovely warm welcome from the well trained, friendly and helpful staff. We haven't experienced a problem with mosquitos, and they do generally love to eat me, but of course this is the tropics and the occasional nip is to be expected. We also have great wifi connection with no drop outs on iPad, iPhone or Macbook Air, much the same as we get in Sydney. Bear in mind that this is a small, quiet hotel, so if you like huge resorts with non-stop activities The Baray Villa is probably not for you. It is also not situated right on the beach, although as Club Med bought up most of the beach frontage not many hotels in Kata are. If you enjoy a relaxing vacation with excellent and great value accommodation with caring staff and one of the best spa's in Thailand this is the place for you. If you like endless activities and partying find somewhere else as this will not be your cup of tea.

(+) Quiet hotel; The rooms are quite large / spacious (2 floors) and clean; lovely style of the rooms; nice restaurant; we really enjoyed the spa; the Thai cooking class was very nice and fun - thank you
(-) If you are not used to mosquitos, this can be a real holiday problem (we used plenty of repellents in and outside the room, non-stop plugged in room repellent, but we got plenty of bites in and outside the room); due to mosquitos and chilly water from main pool we did not use the jacuzzi; WiFi is extremely poor to non-working/non-existent (when it was fixed it only worked for a few hours); TV channels in English need to be improved (quality of image was rather poor); even though the pool looks very nice and spectacular is almost all day long without sun, so you can not really enjoy it (water is too chilly and we barely saw anyone at the pool in 5 days); there is no gym and no sport activities programmes; all these negatives makes the hotel somehow overpriced and was rather below expectations; furthemore, Kata Beach is extremely crowded and noisy in the peak season and it is not the right place if one desires a relaxed and quiet vacation
