“Idyllic villa near Kata beach, superior service satisfying all customer demands”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 March 2014

The first room we got has broken AC in the bedroom upstairs, the friendly staff tried to fix it but unfortunately this can not be done shortly so they told us to change to another villa, the new villa is situated near the swimming pool bar and not the middle section of the pool so we asked again for a change, the staff once again arranged it and this time we checked the new room before changing it.

The falling leafs in the swimming pool are constantly cleaned by the hotel stuff, thy also visit the villa twice a day (in addition to the cleaning) to open/close villa curtains (quite many curtains to be opened/closed).

They do have shuttle service to the Kata beach every hour during daytime so it makes life easier if one is tired of the pool and want to try something larger.

Room Tip: they are 7 villas on each side of the swimming pool, try to get some villa in the middle section and...

This was by far the most amazing hotel my wife and I have ever stayed at. The two major standouts were the physical hotel itself and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The rooms are absolutely out of this world. There is a pool that goes into your living room. The bed is enormous, comfortable, and the bathroom is luxurious. You are surrounded by trees and plants and you can't hear the bustle of kata beach at all... it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere. The décor lends a air of luxury to the entire place. It's all old thai style, and it just feels like you are royalty. The staff also treat you like royalty. They could not be more friendly or attentive to your needs. They bring you breakfast in bed at no extra charge. We checked out at 3pm (also no extra charge), but our flight wasn't until 3am, so they let us sit by the pool all day, and then nap in an air conditioned, incredibly decorated temple-like building until driving us to the airport. The atmosphere is just incredible. The spa was also amazing, and the food at the restaurant was great, too.

The only thing I could even think of improving would be the drinks- they weren't stellar.

(Same as Sawasdee Village)

I cannot say enough about this magnificent and beautiful place. We did not want to leave! We felt like ROYALS because of the amazing villa (Baray Villa) and the off-the-chart hospitality of the Hotel. We were offered a free massage, per person, per each night's stay, OR a free dinner, OR transport to/from the airport. This was INCLUDED in our room price, which was pretty reasonable. It worked out to about $415/night or $208/pp per night. For all you get, this is a sweet deal. We had a jacuzzi (no heat tho :( ) in our living room that lead to our backyard pool, and that pool was part of the community stream that had a bar at one end and cascading waterfall from large vases at the other. I did swim one day to the bar. There are two at the hotel, the one nearest the entrance is more popular, I should have gone to it. But it was an adventure. The staff was accommodating, friendly, helpful and generous. There were some plumbing issues with our downstairs lavatory, and there was some leakage from our upstairs shower, but these did not deter from the wonderful experience of being at Sawasdee Village. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: The villas are like individual town homes, so you have a quiet stay, secluded from noise of neighbor...

My husband and I stayed here for our last night in Phuket. I never thought I could love a room that didn't have an ocean view, but this place was just breathtaking. The room was probably the nicest we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in some beautiful places! We were originally supposed to stay in a Garden room (it was a bit small and felt a little claustrophobic) at Sawasdee Village (they share the same beautiful property) but after seeing it we were convinced into taking a look at the villas at Baray. Definitely pricier than Sawasdee BUT it was so incredible that we figured we would go for the splurge, and we really didn't end up regretting it! Staff was very accommodating and allowed us a complimentary late checkout and then allowed us to use a room to shower in at the end of the day before our flight. Service was excellent and food was great. A special thank you to one of the employees there, Amp. She was very helpful and made our trip even more enjoyable!

Room Tip: The villas are to die for! They definitely look just like the pictures online.

My eyes iterally watered when we were shown our villa for the first time.. It felt like a dream or a joke or something, such amazing luxurious villas with the dome in the ceiling etc, its just over the top and fab!
Our pool was really cold so we didnt use the private pool as much as we'd thought but it didn't make a difference to our stay.. Ordered room service and it was incredible.. STAFF ARE AMAZING, so helpful and polite..
Kata was beautiful as well.. We'd stayed in Patong for five nights and it was such a nice change to get to more relaxed Kata Beach... The shopping was so much cheaper too! Sunnies etc were exactly the same but so much cheaper over in Kata..
Very relaxing and romantic, was a perfect way to end our holiday for three nights after a hectic but very fun stay in Patong...
Can't recommend it enough!

I was browsing through few options of villa in Phuket and finally decided on Barray Villa. Hubby and I we're sad because we arrived there in the afternoon. So did not get to enjoy the facilities on the first day. However...... The villa was absolutely awesome. I could not describe how happy I was to see that my money was well spend. It's worth staying there. The morocco. Theme was really beautiful. You don't even feel like your in Thailand. Many of my friends and relative thought that we were in morocco and they love the villa interior lay and exteriorly. Yes, there's not much things to play at the villa but the private jacuzzi and pool, the little library place and the restaurant and not forgetting the villa itself was Perfect. Since it was raining on day 2 we decided to take the cooking class and it was worth it! Best experience cooking Thai dishes and you don't have to travel far. The spa was good too. Overall very good services. No worries about cheap and affordable shopping, spa and food as you can find them just outside the villa. Very accessible. And if you want something romantic and relax, here is the best with more beautiful beach like Karon. It's away from the busy and noisy streets in Patong.
Thumbs up !!!!!!!

Everything about this place is amazing! We stayed at one of the villas and had a personal assistant. She was so helpful! She had our favorite fruits ready for us each morning and delivered to our room. The breakfast buffet was delicious! I also enjoyed the 3 hour massage they offer at the spa. A great escape from the fast crowded life in Phuket.
