We stayed at Metadee Resort on the first leg of our honeymoon. We stayed in a pool view room and thought it was beautiful. Our room had been decorated by the staff with rose petals which was a nice and considerate touch. The first night we had an upgrade to a pool access room where we could open our balcony door and step into the long narrow part of the swimming pool. The main part of the swimming pool is further down so it is semi-private with only the odd person swimming past (there are curtains and nets in your room). The staff apologised for not having the ability to upgrade us for longer . However, the only difference between the pool view and pool access rooms was the balcony into the pool. The fixtures in the bathroom were modern and beautiful. The king sized bed is extremely comfortable. I am an incredibly light sleepy and found the peace and tranquility of this hotel amazing. I had no problems with the quiet air-conditioning in the room. Metadee gardens are beautiful and its a very short walk to a huge range of restaurants. The stunning beach is about a ten minute walk away but if you are really that lazy there is a shuttle bus that leaves the hotel evey hour. Staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. This was the perfect place for us to begin our honeymoon and I would happily come here again and again and again...

Wow, what a hotel. We had a private pool room for the first night and where surpose to be in a villa access room for the remaining 6 nights of our stay but they upgraded us and let us stay in the private pool room. I would of paid the extra for this as it is very private and gets the sun for most of the day. The pool even has a jacuzzi.
When in the swimming pool the other rooms that have pool access don't seem that private as pp swim up and down. However the pool is amazing, has hot sprinklers half way down.
We ordered room service on the first night as it took nearly 2 hours to get from the airport to the hotel as the traffic was terrible and a 4 bus pile up didn't help!!! The food wasn't that great and would recommend eating out it's only a short 5 min walk to the top of the drive where yo can find lots of restaurants.
The staff in the hotel are very friendly and helpful.

If you are looking at doing tours i would recommend booking them yourself. There are tour operates on nearly every street corner, they make about $1000 baht on every booking, pick up a brochure get the number off the back and dial it yourself, we saved so much money compared to some pp who where on our trips.

I forgot to mention our bed was lush.......it was so comfy, had a great nights sleep!

If we go back to Kata I would definitely stay at the Metadee again.

My wife and I have just completed 7 days in a private pool villa. We have been to Phuket six times and stayed at various places over the years. Unfortunately the Metadee is very tired and badly needs updating. When we arrived, staff were pleasant however the very small reception area did not have air conditioning on resulting in us dying to complete paperwork ASAP. Room was an OK layout however all fixtures are dated and are very worn. The fridge worked well when I turned it down however the air conditioner was required to be run all day, every day. Even with this, the zir conditioner struggled every day and was very noisy. Luckily my wife and I sleep well however the air cond was very noisy even for us. We coped however I imagine alot would not considering the air cond didnt work well anyway. The private pool was ok but was very small and very slippery to get in and out of. A sign of its age I imagine. Otherwise pool also was very tired, old tiles and many patches visible. Furniture was dated and faded and the door to the cupboard where the fridge was could not close properly. The room was badly in need in some colour as was the exterior. A bright picture on a wall or similar works well sometimes.
Overall I can give this hotel 3 stars only and it does not warrant what they charge. It is fine but does not enhance a holiday experience. We will not stay there again and could not really recommend this hotel to friends. Staff were great but the hotel really needs work badly. I believe others have also made this comment. FYI, the walk to Kata Beach Road is only around 400m and is absolutely flat. Good bit of exercise for some. Hope all this helps.

We had a three night holiday in a private pool villa. It was a great place for my father who is disable in a wheelchair. The room is huge and very convenient to bring wheelchair in. The bathroom is also huge with separate toilet, shower area and bathtub. What we like the most is that there is a bench in the shower area which is very convenient for my father. The garden of this hotel is also fantastic and very good for disable person to relax in his wheelchair along the walkway in the garden.

There is no sea view in the resort but the it is not too far to go.

The staff are very friendly and helpful.

We stayed at Metadee for 5D4N. Upon a smooth check-in at the tiny reception, we were surprised to have been upgraded to a private pool villa (our booking was initially for the deluxe pool access).

A golf cart drove us and our luggage right to our villa's doorstep and a staff showed us around the villa. It was a nice gesture- especially helpful to show us where the plunge pool/jacuzzi's on-off button was, where the light switches were, how to use the safe, etc.

The resort looks exactly like what you see in their website. Big and beautiful.

The buggy/golf cart service is available even from the main road. There's a long driveway and if you too tired to walk in, you can go to the Metadee buggy booth at the main road to call for the buggy to pick you up. Good for scorching hot afternoons and tired feet.

The plunge pool/jacuzzi was only used once (to soak our feet) as the water was freezing. Unfortunately there's not much sun to warm the pool up. They should consider pumping in warm water (like what they do to the main pool).

If you're not a nature lover or you cringe at the sight of insects and other small creatures, try to avoid getting the private pool villa. Almost every day we were greeted with small frogs, huge centipedes, numberous lizards and other miscellaneous little creatures.

The shower and toilet bowl area shared a sliding door which needs to be oiled. It takes quite some bit of efford to move it. Bathtub and rainshower was really great though.

Bed and pillows are good if you like them soft. The mosquito net seemed dusty and we found a dead moth on it, but we used it anyway.

Somehow the morning room make-up takes hours to come. After a swim at 12noon one day, we came back to our unit to find that housekeeping didn't come to make-up the room and we had no new bath towels! We called housekeeping for bath towels, but none came. So we showered and dried ourselves with the mini face towels (our only clean option left) and made a complain at the reception. She was apologetic and sent housekeeping to fix the issue. After we came back at the end of the day, they left out 2 beach towels. Seriously, how difficult is it to replace the exact towels in the laundry basket with clean ones?

Somehow toiletries weren't mentioned in the other reviews, so here's what they provide: shampoo, bar soap, shower gel, tooth brush, tooth paste, sewing kit, facial cotton balls, cotton buds, shower cap and shaver. Bedroom slippers and beach slippers were provided for, which was great. The safe was large enough to put a DSLR and more stuff. Travel adapter is available at the reception, so you need not bring your own.

Food at the restraurant was reasonably priced and very yummy. There are other restraurants along the main road that you should try too!

All in all, a good resort.

I am quite surprised by the large number of negative reviews especially regarding the staff.. We have just finished a 5 night stay here and found the staff to be very welcoming knowledgeable and fun. This includes the girls on front desk who wrote us a long list of places to visit and the guys in the bar, special mention to Tanwa who was very bubbly and spoke brilliant English.

We stayed in a private pool villa which was very large and beautifully furnished. The villa was very private unlike the pool access rooms. The gardens were beautiful however this means more mozzies and in the private villa only one bed has a mozzie net. The water pressure is wonderful as is the water temp. We also received free minibar and wifi + 30% off spa treatments.

The pool is beautiful and the fountain jets use hot water which makes for a nice massage. There are always enough pool chairs and the pool is never busy. It is very long, aprox 100m+ so even at its busiest it isn't crowded. We went to the spa for a full 3hr treatment it was reasonably priced and very relaxing, the spa facilities are top quality. The food is very good and well priced, yes the places on the main road can be cheaper but they are not always better. It can be hit and miss on the main road. Compared to other hotels the food is cheap.

The location is just perfect, it is a short walk to the beach, they also have a shuttle bus if you are feeling lazy :) the resort is set back a fair way from the main road making it very quiet and peaceful, this is no problem because a buggy service will transfer you from the front door to the road and back. The food and shopping in the area is quite good, just catch a tuk tuk up the road towards karon for more action.

Fantasea show is a fun experience... But hide your phone and camera because the camera pickup after the show is a nightmare. Upgrade to the seafood buffet, the food is 10x better as is the service and the room is much quieter and better furnished... Think plate after plate of seafood cooked to request. If you want great shopping at a good price without being hassled try expo plaza, incredible shoe selection. If you do over buy a 20kg box shipped back to aust will cost about $120 AUD.

Would definitely stay at this resort again, try agoda for great rates as we payed just a fraction of the asking price.

Room Tip: Private pool villas are wonderful and worth it for the space and privacy. Pool access rooms convenie...

Great swimming pool, if you’re travelling with kids like me, very friendly staffs, but shame about the rooms, too many mosquitoes and the damp smell even throughout the air-conditioning. The Taxi driver said that the hotel was only few years old, but the room seemed like it had been built for more than 10 years ago (smell & the damp condition). I know that we were in the tropical area, but I wonder if any of the other hotels in Phuket would have the mosquitoes & the smell & damp condition. I just had to compromise everything with the great swimming pool that they had. The main deep end pool depth was 1.6ms and continuing on from this pool to the room access area (length about 50ms), depth 1.20ms all along. The pool water is very clean, heated all the time.

Room Tip: Spray the Aero guard whenever, wherever you see a mosquito, especially if you have children with you...
