“Clean and High Value For Money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2010

The Hotel is around 10 minutes walk from the beach, Hotel provides free shuttle to the beach.

Be careful, there are two types of Family room based on TA reviews which may mislead you:
1. Standard Room (Double Bed) with one extra bed. ( Standard Room is VERY VERY SMALL)
2. Family Room with Bunk Bed (Spacious and comfy), there is playstation and kids toys available in the room. There are only around 8 rooms available.

I will rate 5 stars for this Hotel only because of it's Family Room, and surely not for the Standard Room. The Family room is around double the size of the Standard Room, with reasonable price difference.

Hotel is very clean (it's new hotel anyway).
Pool is OK, my 2yrs old daughter really loves the children pool which is separated from the adult pool.
Hotel Food is OK, only tried their Thai Fried Rice which is Very Nice, though, there are some good restaurants nearby the hotel (around 5minutes walk). I would recommend "MAMA" Restaurant for the best around Kata Beach.

OK this is a new hotel, nice clean rooms, very nice clean toilets. Rooms a little small but everything is adequate. They even provide a hairdryer for the ladies!

We stayed for seven nights. However, on the first two days, we moved twice.

First room was just beside the lift, in the morning at 7am, we can hear loud korean tourists talking along the corridor and while waiting for the lifts. (I know it's korean because i tried to learn korean.... [yeah now i kinda regreted learning...])

Then we changed room, to be abit further from the lift.... and in the morning at 5am, we have people banging the doors of the hotel rooms opposite us...we were trying to endure it... till one KOREAN UNCLE... shouted in Korean..."IS IT FINISHED?" across the hallway.... i stumbled out of our room sleepily and glared at the lady who just banged the door opposite us then she went to the room where the uncle was shouting (she didn't seem to understand why i was glaring!)... i went to the room and saw the uncle, her and another korean aunty.... i gesture for them to be quiet that we were sleeping....she nodded and smiled but the uncle just ignored me.... i went back to the room...and me and my husband tried to sleep.... only to end up having another bunch of koreans joining them and shouting again along the corridor.... i fumed and ran out ended up taking the same lift with them.... which they were talking loudly in..... i went to the counter to ask for a final change to a level that has NO KOREAN tourist....

we were given a different room....at another level.... that was great for the next 5 nights!

This incident has given me very bad impression of koreans... i used to love their drama and culture and tried learning their language.... now this incident made me feel disgust at their rudeness.

But i would recommend IBIS... it's clean, modern, with trendy rooms and toilets and their staffs were helpful at helping us change rooms, they also provide shuttle bus to Kata beach which was GREAT.... plus it's not their fault that the korean tourists are rude.

Oh by the way, there were also 4 tourists from mainland china (speaking in some chinese dialect that is not mandarin) that were talking VERY loudly in the restaurant too....

Ibis Kata is away from the maddening Patong crowd. Take the 180 baht minibus service. They drop you off at the hotel and the journey takes about an hour. You have lots of privacy and space. We booked the breakfast set and it was not very good, but sufficient. The double room was smallish, the same for the toilet too, but it was a very clean room. If you want to relax , do nothing and do not like crowds, come here to rest. It is also 2 min walk to the food joints ( do not eat at Richi's. lots of mosquitoes there and the food is lousy). Try NASA burger, we ate there twice. Note that there is no direct bus to Patong for shopping but the half hourly shuttle to Phuket goes along the main road for 30 baht. You may sunset watch at the beach ( 5 mins away) and while away with lots of massages. Enjoy!

The location was great, a small walk from the beach and close to loads of restaurants. We loved it. The A/C was fab and so was the condition of the room. The beds were a bit hard, but still very comfortable. We didn't have an issue with the shower at all, actually the bathroom was great.

The breakfast catered to both western and asian likes, so it was a mix and we loved how clean and quiet this hotel was. It was so nice to be located so close by to everything, yet still away from the noise.

We woke up in the middle of the night and felt very hungry, (jet lag)so we called for some food. we had to pick it up at the reception, but hey it took them 15-20 minutes to make it with hot french fries.

We booked and paid 14 nights there, but still traveled around to other places and we kept wanting to go back to this amazing little gem.

True, the rooms don't have much storage space, but for what we got for the price we paid....we were amazed.

At one point we went off to Kho Lanta for a few days and I forgot to close the safe with all our valuables. We called the hotel and the manager went up to our room, took pictures of everything and locked it for us.

The only thing I can think of that could be a bit irritating was the potential noise from the corridor, but we were not bothered as the room was located at the far end away from the elevators.

They were very friendly and I have a hard time believing that this hotel will stay this great.

Our room was small, but very clean and new. We only stayed on night, en route to Ko Lanta, but it was just a short walk to the restaurants, bars and beach - so we were able to enjoy that too. Staff was not overly friendly or helpful, unlike what we experienced the rest of the country. The biggest downside for us were the large groups of European families. There were kids running around unattended making a lot of noise, and a lot of people smoking in the lobby. The price was good though, and it was just what we needed for one night.

We stayed for 4 nights in a family room, which included bunk beds and a playstation for the kids. Room felt spacious although it was small, they have been designed quite well. I think our room was in a great location as we were on the top floor and the last room in the corridor - so noise was of no concern to us, other rooms may not be so lucky as the corridor is tiled and carries noise. Also the rooms have timber flooring so could be noisy if you have a room above you.

The staff were extremely helpful and polite and my kids made some great new friends.

Breakfast was a good array. Tea, coffee, juice, toast, pastries, fruit, cereal, yogury, hot foods, a little of something for everyone. We also had lunch from their Tastes menu which gives you an entree sized serving of a variety of dishes. We enjoyed this.

The pool area was good, there were usually enought sunbeds (depending on the time of day you visited the pool) and a smaller kids pool was great for us.

The beach is less then 10 minutes walk from the hotel, walk to the street and turn right - walk til you see the pathway following a creek (it is a proper walkway) and follow this down to the beach. There are quite a few restaurants close by. And a market is about 10mins walk away if you turn left on the street from the hotel. We had a few massages in the shops just to the right of the exit of the Ibis.

This was a great value hotel for the family. They have a shuttle that runs on demand to their drop off point at the beach from 8.30am and does a return pickup every hour on the hour. They also have a airport transfer service available too.

This hotel is hidden behind a constructed building, and maybe it's new, the taxi driver cannot find the hotel.
The room was of moderate size, but the bathroom, the bathing area is simply do small and if you are big size, you will have difficulty to get in. The room was full of mosquitos, me and my hubby spent half an hr 'killing' them. Beside, the walls of the room was so 'thin', you can basically hear all the voices of your neighbours, the footsteps of ppl walking along the corridor.
This hotel don't understand what is room service at all. We arrived late and was hungry, flipping through the menu and called for room service. The receptionist said we need to go down to the bar at the ground floor to order, after a few mins of debating over room service, they finally give in and take our order but wants us to collect our food ourselves at the bar half an hour later.
The gd thing of this hotel is it is located near to kata beach, about 10 mins walk but it's a walking distance to the night plaza.
