The food was good, especially for the price. The pineapple fried rice with calamari was one of my favorites. I believe that most of the meals were no more that $3 USD.

That being said, I don't expect much for $3, but the least you can do is make sure that your waitstaff is on board with the whole experience. One particular waiter who we will call BugEyes (you'll know him when you see him) was a real a-hole. Not only would he mess orders up all the time, but he was a total jerk when the order had to be corrected. The way he spoke to my wife was completely uncalled for, and it resulted in us having a "private conversation" out back. Compared to how absolutely lovely the Thai people are, BugEyes really stood out. I don't think I've ever stiffed a waiter, but this guy was an exception. He was very close to being served a knuckle sandwich for lunch.

If you are lucky and are served by one of the other waitstaff, you will be in for a very reasonable lunch with great beach views and casual atmosphere. I would recommend however, going next door to Ska Bar. The food is better and staff is cool. You'll pay a little more for it, but it's worth it IMO.

A very basic looking restaurant right on Kata beach with the most delicious food! We had a Thai green curry and beef stirfry with basil and chilli - the food was so amazing and the portions big. Definitely value for money and no one can complain about the view.

Good restaurant nice views good value. Had some great big mussels and they make a good soup. a good variety of seafood and nice cold beer. they have a lot of tables but it can get busy. have tarps for the rain but its easier to be at the back on windy rainy days as water can come through

I didn't think with all the seafood places here sushi would be so hard to find. Situated a block away from Kata beach this restaurant boasts a large menu with many delicious dishes. We both really enjoyed our meals. It is outdoor seating though so better to visit at night when it isn't so hot. Flies were a bit annoying but once again outdoor seating so to be expected. Was charged 120 Baht for two small water's which is at least twice as much as every other restaurant we ordered water at and 8x what it costs at convenience store a couple doors down. Other than that ridiculousness we enjoyed our meal. *Note Restaurants here allow smoking which as a non smoker is very annoying. Please use common sense and if your smoke is blowing across other people's table be considerate and move away while you smoke.
