We stayed in this Hotel for 10 nights during our honeymoon in March 2009. The hotel is located perfectly across the street from the beach. It is close to all the side walk shops and restaurants as well. the room was spacious and very clean. The friendly hotel staff also helped us to book boat trips and other day trips. We also enjoyed the pool bar and the big swimming pool at the hotel. The breakfast was really good with a big variety every morning. But the best of all was the excellent sea view from our room! The only bad thing was the lift that didn't always work and all the stairs we had to climb, but it was all worth it at the end for the great views. We will definitely go back to this hotel.

We booked a deluxe sea view room (only a couple of pounds more expensive than a standard room).

Pros:
Fantastic view from room straight out across the whole beach and a lovely terrace to sit out on and enjoy it from. Room was a good size and clean with good a/c. Bathroom clean and functional. Inclusive breakfast offered a wide range including omelette bar. Nice pool. Good location at the end of Kata beach. 2 mins from beach and away from the hustle-bustle of the markets, but only a short walk if you fancy getting involved.

Cons:
Hotel is very big and it's quite a walk from reception to room.
Reception staff speak limited English. We're unable to help/answer questions about ferry timetables. (Luckily lots of local tour offices who are more than willing to help!)

All in all a nice hotel which I would recommend.

Thank you Em for organising a gr8 room for our Wedding Anniversary. All that floor is a gr8 view 2401-2408, ask for these if you can. I think ours was the pick of the bunch 2401. Was amazingly Private. Be warned of the steps though. There is lots of them. 79 to the first lift. We were another 3 floors past this. Good exercise. We like a couple of cups of tea in the mornings to get us started. The daily room are a bit stingy on tea bags & sugar, so can run out pretty quickly. Some of the staff need to get some manners. Some are are a bit cool with you, but some give a generous welcoming smile. This however seems the norm in Thailand. They certainly are not all over you to please. The position, opposite the beach & I think definitely the prettiest end of Kata, is the place to be. We would certainly go back to Tropical Garden. Thank you Em again!

It was 3 years back that we stayed in this place. We had been to Potong area in our last visit and wanted something away from hustle and bustle of that area. Kata is a the best place to relax and just do nothing :)

This one resort is 3 minutes from beach with lot of good eating places nearby. Good choice if you just stroll 10 minutes towards shopping area near the hotel.

Hotel itself was great. We were given a sea view room view from which we will never forget in our lives. Sunset and time in the night was pure bliss.

Our room was on third floor and to get to the lift area you have to climb about 20 stairs. Difficult for those with knee pain. For kids its an activity that they love.

Breakfast is standard fare. Room service quick and efficient.

All and all a great experience. Couple of our friends stayed there on my recommendation and enjoyed.

Room tip: Get a sea view room. Worth every penny.
