Check in was great and we were taken into the lounge which overlooks Kata Beach where the General Manager introduced herself to us. A nice touch - I was impressed to start with. Our room was on the ground floor where we stepped out to the pool area and beach access. The bed was huge in fact too big and really uncomfortable - too hard for me. It really encroached on the space. The bathroom was compact with modern clean lines but unfortunately did not have a bath. I believe a bath is essential for a property of this price. (AUD260+ per night) It is lovely to soak in the bath at the end of the day. The facilities in the room were fine. Coffee lovers will like the coffee machine however we did not use it. The buffet breakfast was limited and the same each day and you choose your main from the a la carte menu again it was limited for a long stay. I found the staff to be friendly and nice but didn't explain what to do and stood around and chatted a lot of the time. I would say breakfast was the busiest meal of the day. The Re Kata Beach Club was great and the pool area the best. Fantastic music played all day as you sat in the sun by the horizon pool and then at night out came large cubes and seats that they lit up. Very pretty. The beach area was good and the staff attentive bringing cold water and nibbles during the day. My husband had booked the 2 day cooking class but it was not of the standard they all expected. The chef was not a good teacher and they were most disappointed and cancelled the second day. A bottle of wine was in our room at the end of the day. Again a nice touch. It was disappointing that the Beach Club did not attract people at night time. We were told that it was a quiet time however the hotel was full as we had to change rooms on the last night. There are only about 38 rooms so it puts it into perspective. The second room we had was upstairs and next to the main airconditioning vent so was noisy. As it was only one night it was OK. We checked on the cost of the hotel transfer to the airport and it was double the cost the same company charges. You are better contacting the company directly. It leaves a bad taste really. We had a complimentary massage the hotel offer in their spa and when we went for it they tried to get us to purchase a longer session. Overall we enjoyed our stay as we have been to Kata Beach before but we were disappointed with the hotel as it is expensive and didn't live up to the hype.

Room Tip: Beach access rooms on the ground level are good. There are also rooms that have a walk out lounge ar...

This review is dedicated to the wonderful staff at the Boathouse, the superb location in beach front of Kata and the unique atmosphere surrounded in this five star accomodation:))
We are a family with 3 children ( 2,5,7 ) pre-booked for 7 nights in a family-suite. The room was lovely with seaview, including a day-bed easily transformed to a night bed for the oldest sibblings and a baby cot for the youngest. Still the suite has space and great comfort! The bathroom is BIG and tastely decorated:)

ReKata Beach Club, an challenging task in the makeover of the original Boathouse has an first class location and a breaktrough arcitecture situated on the beach! The staff offer an children safe and delightful menu.
The infinity pool is a great place to cool down before or after entering the lovely Andaman Sea:)
You may not stay at the Hotel without eating at least One dinner at Boathouse Wine And Grill! A frequent award winner of it's excellent cuisine! You should try the French Onion Soup as a starter;))

We stayed 16 nights in Thailand, original schedule included 7 nights at Boathouse and then traveling to other areas. At day 2 we decided to stay! Why should we leave?
The Hotel has everything!
- including choco pop for breakfast!!

Best regards from
Mr Nils Terkelsen and family( Norway )

I fell in love with this hotel as soon as we arrived for a romantic holiday for 5 nights, greeted by smiling helpful staff, who gave us a free drink and then showed us around the hotel, explaining all we needed to know to start our wonderful holiday here. The hotel is right on the beach, with breath taking views of the beach and sea. We had a Sea view room with views of the beach and sea and also a balcony with two chairs and a table. The room its self was a good size with comfortable beds, your very own coffee machine, which is so fantastic to be able to make fresh coffee, when ever you want. Fresh fruit provided everyday and a mini bar fridge full with everything from water, milk, soft drinks to beers and eats.
There is a safe provided for your valuables and also cupboard space for your clothes.
The bathroom and shower were very good.
The air conditioning was also very good.
The maid service was fantastic, with clean bed linen daily and the room cleaned everyday, with nice touches.
There are two restaurants, the main restaurant being in the main building, with the ambience of a top class restaurant, with someone playing a piano and beautiful views looking out into the sea, with the sun setting in the red shy at night. How romantic is that. Wow.
The food is extremely good and very well presented, with a choice of either French or Thai cuisine. Chef Rattana specialises in Thai food and she is exceptional in creating wonderful dishes. The choice of wines to choose from, are incredible, but they come at a cost.
The other restaurant is in the newly built RE KA TA CLUB ON THE BEACH. This is where you get your lovely freshly prepared breakfast everyday. They also serve Lunch and dinner here and this is prepared by a new chef from South Africa. The food here is also of very high quality with good presentation and very tasty. The Tenderloin, Sea bass and soft shell crab were wonderful.
The staff at both restaurants were fantastic and always smiling and very helpful.
The bar staff at the club on the beach are really very good and you might be lucky enough the see the barmen make cocktails, like u have never seen them be made before. Throwing and catching bottles and glasses in the air, while making your favourate cocktail. What fantastic entertainment.
The Spa is really very very good indeed and its not that expensive.
The music in the beach club is organised by their own DJ with a mix of colombian and spanish music.
Overall I think this has been the best ever romantic holiday ever in one of the best hotels in Phuket, with the most wonderful friendly staff you could ever meet.
Thank you very much to the staff and management at the Boathouse Hotel and giving myself and my girlfriend the best time ever.
I will be back without a doubt and I recommend this hotel to everyone.

SERVICE WAS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC and resort was lovely not to mention the restaurant was enjoyable!

Arrived, stayed for 2 nights, we had the travel agent “tripasia tours”” to book our room
Upon arrival, after the staff verified our RSVP, the GM on duty came out and greed US with a very warmth and welcoming smile that made us impressed.
Jen assisted us in touring the resort and informing us the location for bkft, where pool is located not forgetting the SPA, which is complimentary, which we decline thereafter due to our time constraint

Our Room was lovable, RIGHT OUTSIDE where the Jacuzzi is and followed by the Beautiful BEACH! All this are steps away… Next to our room was the Wine & Grill Restaurant “deluxe beachfront” it would have been even better if the Jacuzzi would have a heater

Wi-Fi works amazingly

Overall, it was GREAT. I could not as for more

One of the door men, in green/brown kind uniform help us to navigate the traffic in the heavy rain without covering himself in order for our driver to reverse his car. Great Effort right!
Breakfast, was al carte menu, and small buffet corner, but they have everything, ask and they will do their best upon any request!!
The F&B manager “Santi” greet and acknowledge almost the entire guest, including us over the breakfast. Great isn’t it? Friendly and you feel welcoming
Dinner at Boathouse Wine & Grill was superb, food was fine, thou the price might be a little steep compare to other restaurant but I guess it was ACCEPTABLE. For the SERVICE, FOOD AND AMBIENCE and yes the rose.

Unfortunately, we only stayed for 3 days, we will return pretty soon.

regards
Irin

Just returned from an Oct 2012 8 day stay at this hotel. Service is great and personalized. Assistance with reservations, tours etc. immaculate and efficient. Staff is friendly and smiling and remembers your favorites and earlier orders. Rooms are newly remodeled. Direct access to beach and pool is just superb and eases all your logistics with yourself and kids. Restaurant is pricey but good food. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Room on base floor (100, 101 etc) have direct access to beach.

well, where to start...?

right here right now. We have been in this wonderful hotel some years ago I guess it was January/February 2008. We stayed there for 18 days and it was surely one of our best holidays in Thailand (out of our 6 visits in Thailand).

The hotel is loctated in a top area direct on the beach (just wake up, make a few steps and you'll find your self on the beach!!!), nice hotel design, great view when having breakfast or dinner. Sitting right up the Kata beach overlooking the the sea towards the little Island near by.

The food was always excellent and the service outstanding. (well, its a 5*).

As a hotel guest at the Boathouse Hotel you also have your own sunbeds with a traditional umbrella and a little table in between. A hotel employee is taking care about your needs and is coming along several times during your stay at the beach with a refreshment cold towel, fresh local fruits like pineapple, mango and so on for zero charges, its just a service from the Hotel !!!

We really enjoyed our stay and loved all the Thai staff working there (we come from the same business and know what it means to take care of holiday makers, therefore we gave a good tip every single day...!!!).

Superb Hotel with superb SERVICE.

we wish you all the best and hope you people will never change your way of taking care of your hotel guests !

Lia & Gunti from Cyprus !!!

Room Tip: all rooms are just perfect for our needs... its a smaller hotel with nice rooms !
