My husband and I has a last minute opportunity to have a last minute holiday and Phuket was the destination that came up trumps as direct flight from Sydney was an imperative. Having not been to Phuket before we were concerned about not staying somewhere too touristy and after some help with trip advisor and some other sites we decided that Kata would be the best place to start the holiday from and from there we found Boathouse.

After the 9 hr flight picked up at the airport and delivered to the hotel, the staff were welcoming and we were just pleased to make it. I booked 4 nights at green season rates which are an absolute bargain for what we got. We booked superior sea view and when we saw we were over the restaurant we asked the 1st morning if we could move to a better sea view and we were happily accommodated. I extended by 1 night cause we were so happy with the location, facilities and great staff. As green season is not too busy and the tides full the beachfront was not too busy so we were really looked after by the guys on the beach who would pour us water, bring fresh fruit sticks and sweep the sand off our sun lounges while we were in swimming.

We found the beds comfortable, not something you always get in Asian hotels for soft westeners, very clean, great housekeeping staff, the breakfasts in re ka ta stunning and the views fabulous. I was training for a half marathon so got early for a run a couple of times and had beautiful runs to karon but the humidity a killer but great to get out while all was quiet.

I could go on for ever on how much we enjoyed our stay but we headed to phi phi for a new adventure. So to wrap up, Fabulous boutique hotel for first time phuketers, honeymooners, chilled out tourists. THe only negative is nothing to do with the hotel only perhaps some folks who stay are over enthusiastic and not as chilled as the hotel deserves and a little noisy just as one was drifting off to sleep....

We stayed in July 2012 and got engaged here. I already lived the place prior to my now husband popping the question. The decor and ambience truly gives it a boutique hotel feeling. We have noting bad to say about his hotel. The staff, service, rooms and amenities were all wonderful.

It took us ages to finally choose a place to stay in Kata Beach. We were very particular about wanting to stay in a luxury hotel that was right on the beach. We were so impressed with our shuttle that came to collect us from the airport. We were given bottles of ice cold water and cool towels that smelled of jasmine. The warm welcome at the hotel was amazing. We only got in after 11pm but they still took us around and showed us the pool etc.
The staff at the pool were so attentive. We felt like the "rich and famous".
There are restaurants on the beach that are a 2 minute walk from the hotel or you can walk into town which is between 5 and 10 minutes walk away.
I highly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view. It is spectacular!

This resort is divine! The first part of our holiday was spent at another very large resort close by which was going to start renovations so we walked down the beach to see what else was available to move to. From the moment we walked in & enquired (lovely receptionist name Tiw), we felt welcome and valued, she showed us a room on 3rd floor which was spotless, contemporary & inviting & said it would be available in a couple of days. We stayed for 5 days and loved every minute, they have a section of the beach exclusive to the resort so the staff tend to you (chairs, cold water, towels, umbrellas just as well as they do around the lovely infinity pool. Breakfast at the restaurant was delicious with a great selection & they have themed evenings (tapas, ladies evening etc) at their second restaurant. All the staff were friendly & professional and made the stay very enjoyable. This is a 5 star boutique sized resort (38 rooms or so) and may not be for everyone, (price wise), we are in our 50*s with kids 23 and 19 (who werent with us), however we would love to take them back as we know we would love the surroundings & enjoy it as much as us. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Great property...was there July 20th for 5 nights with wife and 17 year old daughter. Hotel was immaculate..they even had a guy going around with white paint touching up the place almost daily. The food, and we just had their breakfast was great and the setting gorgeous. I loved this property because it was right on the beach and not across the street like most others and Kata Beach is less congested than Karon and Patong. The only problem we had there is, we feel a pool boy gave us some unbottled water as we got sick for a day and missed our flight ..we had been only at the pool that afternoon and had no other drinks except water..so make sure you always get water with the cap on or make sure you see someone take it off....This property tho is the best place to stay in Phuket if you are a beach nut like we are.

I almost gave 5 stars. Probably a 4.5 star review. Will explain. The staff was great. Very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and they kept it that way, stopping by twice a day to refresh it. the location is amazing. Kata beach is spectacular and being towards the end it's perfect. The breakfast was good. I would go back in a heart beat and can't imagine anyone not having a great stay there. Here's why I didn't go all the way to the 5 star. I upgraded my room to the ' Premium sea view' room thinking I'd be overlooking the beach and the ocean. While I did have a view of the ocean my room was set back enough to where I had a big tree and a few cabana roof tops in my way....kind of a 'sea peak a boo' view. Still, ended up being a great stay. 4.5 stars and highly recommend.

The location is divine right on kata beach which is so heavenly, white sand, safe, a beautiful bay. Service is fantastic. Food great in restaurant, but little things let it down like attention to planting. Very friendly helpful staff. The French manager is lovely

Room Tip: Choose upstairs with sea view. Better value
