“Didn't want to leave!!!!”
Reviewed 29 November 2011

What a beautiful resort, we stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, with pool access. The suite had a full size fridge, microwave, and sink, which was great when we had friends over for drinks each night. The pool was fantastic being at the back door and then we could swim up to the bar for happy hour. Really relaxing place to stay, lots of shops, bars and resturants right out the front of the resort. The buffet breakfast was brillant, eggs anyway you wanted them and lots of international dishes. We didn't want to leave and would go back again.

We stayed for three days in Kata palm resort..It's a very nice resort..very clean and spacious rooms. Very friendly staff.
This resort is very close to the Kata and Karon Beach..some of the very nice beaches in Phuket!! I would definitely love to go back to this place.
Only issue we faced was communication with the staff. so its good as long as u make sure that u need not to communicate with them frequently!! Otherwise very nice place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Kata Palm for a number of reasons.

Location: great location as 5 minute walk to the beach and near a number of places to eat and shop. Kata is a nice area to stay in Phuket.

Rooms: we stayed in the superior pool view room and it was very large and clean.

Hotel staff: friendly and polite but their English is not good enough. However, the tour/taxi orgnaiser at the hotel was very helpful and his English was good. He also gave us good advice and good tour discounts.

Breakfast: very large selection of food - thai style, full English breakfast and continental available. The food is average.

Pool area: really lovely pool area with pool bar, which is a nice touch and there are beautiful gardens around the pool.

Overall we would recommend this place to stay as it offers good value for money in a great location.

Room Tip: The ppol access room looked very nice

We spent the second week of our phuket holiday here after staying in the north, and we were very pleased with the way the two choices complemented each other.

The hotel is close to shopping and nightlife, but its still quiet and has a lovely atmosphere inside the hotel.

The pool bars and pool areas were landscaped and styled well. The staff also spoke very good english - better than I expected actually. They were competent and very good with our children.

We had a small problem on our second day with a leaking tap (which was actually running down the inside of the wall) and management handled the situation really well. We were moved within a few hours with minimum disruption to an even nicer room.

We can really recommend this place and would even stay here again if we returned to Phuket.

We loved our stay here. Very clean and very pretty. The pool was great and very relaxing. Staff were very friendly and most spoke good english making it easy to communicate with them. The hotel taxi service manager was exceptional and very helpful with organizing day trips to where ever we wanted for a great price. Our driver was also great taking us to many attractions in Phuket that we would have otherwise not been able to find of get to. The room was good and it was nice to have your own private balcony to enjoy the afternoon breeze. The only down side is that a king bed is two king singles together with no joining mattress so being a couple away on a romantic get away it was not ideal. I don't think there was any other option for a large bed.

The hotel is a very short walk to main shops and to the beach which is great!! it is situated far enough back on the property from the main road that it was very quite.

The entertainment at the resort of an evening was pretty poor though and the person who entertained was not that great, playing the same songs every night using poorly composed backing music that was cool maybe 20 years ago.

Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel to stay at if you are looking for a relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: top floor because there are great views if there is a thunderstorm and it is quieter than lower leve...

Everything I wanted in a Thai hotel I found here, clean and modern, but still with that beautiful Thai style. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and as we had a pool access room we were walking straight out of the door and into the most beautiful of pools. The pool bar was a great place to have a drink or sundae and prices were very reasonable. The staff were amazing, and very helpful. Would probably steer clear of the travel desk, big time rip off, but everything else was fantastic. I really enjoyed Kata as opposed to Patong because it was as 'full on'. Patong is very busy, whereas Kata is much more quiet and relaxing. And after all, if you want to go to Patong it's only 10mins on a scooter or in a taxi. Make sure you do yourself a favour and book the pool access room, it's a bit more expensive but you will kick yourself if you don't. If I ever make it back to Phuket I would definitely stay here.

Room Tip: Definitely choose pool access

I stayed at Kata Palm for 6 nights. It was a good location for me, away from the crowds and bustle of Patong, in the family friendly area of Kata. As a solo female traveller, I felt quite safe and it was easy to walk to restaurants, shops and beach nearby.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and sent someone to assist me with the wi fi which I couldn't get working in my room.

I arranged a few day trips from a stand down the road from the hotel, but they do have a tour desk if you wish to use it.

Breakfast was ok, nothing fantastic, but adequate. As part of my package, I received a free thai massage at their spa, which was very good. Also a free dinner at their restaurant, and this too, was quite ok.

Nice pool area to chill out, with bar/snacks. All in all I would recommend for families, or older couples, or people who don't wish to be right in the thick of things.
